Elder Abuse Awareness Day is on June 15. DOVE committee members will be at Southlands Tsawwassen for Senior’s Day on June 6 from 10:00am-3:00pm providing information and resources for elder abuse, as well as doing a draw for prize baskets! See you then!
It’s that time of year again! DOVE is proud to be attending the Be More Than A Bystander program again this year. On January 27, we’ll be at Delta Secondary (@dsspacers) at 9:30am and then Seaquam Secondary (@SeaquamSec) at 12:30pm. See you all then!

Please join us on Sunday, December 6 between 10am-2pm at Hyack Square (800 Columbia Street) in New Westminster for our annual National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women shoe memorial. There will be a ceremony and speakers at 12pm.
DOVE committee members will be on a broadcast with our friends at @redfmvancouver on December 3 at 10:05am to talk about violence against women in anticipation of National Day of Remembrance of Violence Against Women. Feel free to tune in!
This Truth and Reconcilitation Day, DOVE members attended the walk put on by the Tsawwassen First Nations on September 30. One of our DOVE members presented TFN with a handmade Every Child Matters quilt. The event was well attended this year, such a great event!
The purpose of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is to provide an opportunity for communities to promote a better understanding of abuse and neglect of older persons by raising awareness of the processes affecting them. This weekend, DOVE attended the South Delta Seniors Day event.
On June 7, DOVE will be attending South Delta Seniors Day at Southlands in Tsawwassen from 10:00am-3:00pm in recognition of International World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15. Information and resources will be available, along with a draw for prize baskets. Come on out!

Yesterday, UFCW Local 247 and Local 1518 held their 20th annual shoe memorial at New Westminster City Hall for the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. Each pair of shoes represents a victim. 🕊️
Today we honour the women who were murdered at École Polytechnique in 1989. We also honour all women who are killed due to relationship violence. It is estimated that nearly 6 in 10 homicides involving a woman or girl is perpetrated by an intimate partner or family member. 🕊️
Today, the #DPD is proud to stand with the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) in issuing a formal apology to Canada’s LGBTQ2S+ Community for untold pain caused by a legacy of police discrimination, harassment, marginalization and abuse of authority.
