@BasedMikeLee A thoughtful Christian with differing theology vs. arguably the second most corrupt politician of recent years.
Christian Rs support the corrupt guy. Tracks.
For perspective, it would take the average Floridian, represented by @SenRickScott, @SenAshleyMoody and @RepLaurelLee nearly 28,000 years to earn this amount of money.
DOJ launches a $1.776 billion 'Anti-Weaponization Fund' born from Trump's own IRS settlement — and anyone can apply for a payout, including Jan. 6 defendants who received pardons.
A five-person board appointed by the AG will review claims case-by-case, but the president holds power to remove any member without cause. Democrats call it a taxpayer-funded slush fund for Trump allies. Legal experts say the fund lacks precedent because it bypasses the class-action lawsuit structure used in prior government compensation programs.
The fund runs through December 2028.
These are our taxpayer dollars (that then have to be borrowed no less). Surely standing up for taxpayers is bipartisan. @RepLaurelLee, @SenRickScott, @SenAshleyMoody?
People are concerned about paying their mortgage or rent, affording groceries and paying for gas, not about putting together a $1.8 billion fund for the President and his allies to pay whomever they wish with no legal precedent or accountability. This is adding to our national debt. If there needs to be a settlement, the administration should bring it to Congress to decide.
@FSKPart3 I enjoyed this season more than most recently, but you’re right. It has transitioned from being a reality show to being a game show. Fiji is now just a set. They’ve taken the surviving out of Survivor.
@SenBillCassidy We’re out here trying to make ends meet and the President is just effectively giving himself 2 billion taxpayer dollars that we don’t even really have. We need our representatives to stand up for us. Just this once? Please?
Cassidy on ballroom: There's no architectural plans. There is no environmentals. There's no engineering. There's no sense of when we ask, how did it happen to cost exactly a billion. I just don't get it.
@JumboElliott76 This is so important and well-said. It’s not JUST Congress reclaiming its authority, but Congressional leadership restoring power to committees and legislators.
@FrankLuntz It’s the same mistake the prior administration made. America doesn’t gauge the economy on macro metrics, they gauge it on their household finances.
@ryanburge Back of the napkin, it seems marriage is more a driver than Christianity. Going from never married to married shows a higher increase in happiness among non Christians than Christians.
Taken together, I think it speaks to loneliness. Marriage and membership in a group both help.
