A new piece of Stampede history has arrived.
Meet Keagan George, the 23-year-old Alberta artist behind the 2027 Calgary Stampede Poster, ‘Best Seat in the House’.
After participating in the Stampede Youth Poster Competition five times, advancing to the Top 30 twice and Top 8 twice, Keagan's persistence paid off this year with a winning image that captures all the power, intensity and adrenaline of Stampede Rodeo bull riding.
Her artwork now joins the legacy of Calgary Stampede Posters created by Alberta youth and marks her place in Stampede history.
As the competition’s first-place winner, Keagan received a $10,000 scholarship through the Dustin Peers Memorial Scholarship, generously funded by the Brandon Flock Foundation. The scholarship program awards $20,000 annually to the competition’s top eight finalists, making it one of Canada’s largest art scholarships.

We recognize that Canada’s labour needs vary across regions. Our one-time In-Canada Workers Initiative helps meet labour needs in Canada’s smaller communities to support and grow local economies: https://t.co/3KkLC0t5w8
This initiative will accelerate permanent residence for up to 33,000 workers in Canada by the end of 2027. These individuals are already living and working here, and contributing to Canada’s economy.
To date, 3,600 workers have been granted permanent residence under this initiative between January 1st and February 28, 2026. Our work continues.

The provincial government has just imposed the largest property tax increase on Calgarians in history.
In 2026, Alberta is increasing its share of your property tax bill by 21.05%. Nearly 42% of every residential property tax dollar now goes directly to the Province, and the City is legally required to collect this massive tax increase.
For a typical $706,000 home:
🔺 Province: +$339
🔹 City: +$49
We did our work to restrain spending while focusing on safety and core infrastructure. The City’s increase is 1.81%.
The total increase is about $388, with the overwhelming majority driven by the Province.
