Just because it’s aimed at children doesn’t excuse it being legitimately bad. Willy Wonka, Old Yeller, ET, Where the Red Fern Grows, etc.

That being said, how could a He-Man movie be good? I would have no expectation of going to a He-Man movie and expecting a good movie. So you might as well make it as good as possible. So people can at least praise the cinematography and score.
