Even more than in the past, it is clear today that the proliferation of armed conflicts is often driven by the exploitation of oil and mineral deposits, with no regard for international law or the self-determination of peoples.
Today I'm unveiling Osborn’s Nebraska Fairness Plan.
Six priorities I would carry to Washington on behalf of every Nebraskan who values hard work.
Working people deserve a seat at the table in the U.S. Senate. This plan is for the Nebraskans who punch a clock, pay their bills, and wonder why nobody in Washington is fighting for them.
This plan is my roadmap for how we change that.

Yoda is the Boomer stuck in his ways.
Windu/Qui Gon are opposing types of Gen Xers.
Obi Wan is the Millennial who followed the rules and did everything he was taught was right only to end up homeless, broke, and single anyway.
And Anakin is the fatherless radicalized GenZ.
Google has privately proposed building a new data center in Nebraska that could require three times the amount of electricity needed to power all of Lincoln during the hottest months of the year, according to documents obtained by Flatwater.

Here's the message the President should be delivering in the SOTU tonight:
The Pentagon budget is a whopping TRILLION dollars. The budget is bloated. People need funding for childcare, education, housing and food, NOT UNNECESSARY WAR.
The ghouls on this app are reacting to this the way you'd expect, but they are not real people.
Real people--your neighbors, friends, anyone with a conscience--see this and feel angry and sad. Real people know it's wrong.
Thanks for this @chamath . The tax can be paid over 5 years. There should be provisions for workarounds for founders whose stock is locked or where their company is not profitable to defer any tax until a liquidity event with no interest accrual and for adjustment on the tax due based on the valuation at liquidity (in case it drops).
Why not propose reasonable protections for founders? Are you open though to 1-2 percent wealth tax on established billionaires in our nation and in California? That's really the point of a wealth tax.
You had talked about tech billionaires needing to do more at a time when people can't afford healthcare, education, childcare. I found those comments very self-aware.
I am curious whether you'd support some form of wealth tax and social investment if well designed. In this case, it's to make up for the cuts in healthcare for working class Californians.
From 1947 to 1979, wages and productivity rose in tandem, driving broad-based prosperity. After 1980, productivity kept climbing while wages and compensation stalled. This disconnect defines the Great Regression, a period in which workers produce more but receive far less in return.
This is a damning piece about a torture prison that is being used by the Trump administration. That’s why the piece was pulled. All Americans deserve to see this story. Shame on Bari Weiss.
It's not just about mouthing the words affordability. We need:
- billionaire taxes
- $10/day childcare
- Medicare for All
- a living wage
- stop Wall Street from buying homes
- free public college and trade schools
