Most Teachers will tell you right now that they love Teaching they just hate being a Teacher at the moment. Pointless meetings, micromanaging, lack of support, lack of accountability, salary that doesn’t keep up with cost of living and unpaid labor (lesson plans and grading).
My heart is broken. He was a third grader in the class next door to me when I was at PES but he really was all of our “student” when he was in third grade. Rest In Peace Tony.

There isn’t a special formula to build strong relationships with students. It requires frequent 1-1 check-ins that extend beyond academic content. For that to happen, educators need instructional models that allow them to spend less time lecturing and more time in 1-1 discussions
