I was told by someone who worked on this film: You can see this film as "the rise of a superhero." It is truly Michael Begins — and a story of father-son relationship. You will cry a lot, and you will get goosebumps when you hear the music in the theater. #MichaelMovie

The Legacy Continues

For Jaafar Jackson, stepping into the life of his uncle, Michael Jackson, meant more than learning to moonwalk or mastering the voice, it meant understanding the man behind it all. The discipline. The sensitivity. The weight of being extraordinary before you even understand what that means.

After years of preparation, he delivers a performance rooted in reverence and truth, honoring not just the icon the world knew, but the man his family loved.

This isn’t just about playing a role, it’s a responsibility. One built on lineage and a deep personal connection that can’t be taught. And he fits just like a glove.

Catch Michael in theaters on April 24th.

Meet the Jacksons

In the film Michael, Colman Domingo, Nia Long, and Jaafar Jackson step into one of the most sacred legacies in music: The life, The family, and The genius that is Michael Jackson.

From Gary, Indiana to stages across the globe, the journey unfolds through music, sacrifice, and ambition. The story moves through a father’s discipline, a mother’s grace, and the quiet weight carried by a child destined for greatness.

Because before the icon, there was a son. Before the myths, there was a family.

At its core, Michael is about complexity. Talent and pressure. Growth and expectation. This time, the story is told with care.

From Off the Wall to looking at the Man in the Mirror, the reflection reveals the full picture of the soul of Michael.

Two different looks of fear: one who dares not question the authority of his father… and the other who feels suffocated and so desperately wants to break free from it.
