Be with someone who will take care of you. Not materialistically, but take care of your soul, your well-being, your heart, and everything that's you.🧏♂️
I once met a taxi driver who taught me a lesson I'll never forget.
I was waiting at the airport when a shiny, spotless taxi pulled up. The driver stepped out in a neat white shirt, black tie, and perfectly pressed black trousers. He walked around the car, opened the back door for me, and handed me a laminated card.
“Hello, I'm Wasu, your driver,” he said with a smile. “While I put your bags in the trunk, please take a look at my mission statement.”
The card read, “My mission is to take every customer to their destination safely, quickly, and affordably, while making the journey as pleasant as possible.”
I was impressed. The inside of the taxi was just as clean and well-kept as the outside.
Then Wasu asked, “Would you like some coffee? I have regular and decaf.”
I jokingly said, “No, I'd rather have a cold drink.”
“Of course!” he replied. “I have Coke, Diet Coke, lassi, water, and orange juice in the cooler.”
I was surprised. I'd never tried lassi before, so I asked for one.
He handed it to me and then offered me something to read. He had magazines, a Bible, and a few other books in the car.
As we started driving, he showed me a list of radio stations I could choose from. He had already adjusted the temperature and asked if I was comfortable. He even explained which route would be best at that time of day.
Finally, he told me I could chat with him about the local sights or simply enjoy the ride in silence. Whatever I preferred.
I couldn't believe how thoughtful this man was.
“Wasu, have you always treated your customers this way?” I asked.
He smiled at me through the rear-view mirror.
“Not at all. For my first five years as a taxi driver, I complained about everything, just like many other drivers. Then one day, I heard something that changed the way I looked at life.”
He explained that we all have a choice. We can behave like ducks, constantly quacking and complaining, or we can be like eagles, rising above the noise and finding a better way forward.
“That really made me think,” he said. “I realised I was spending too much time complaining. So I decided to change myself instead of blaming everything around me.”
He started looking at other taxi drivers. Many had dirty cars, unfriendly attitudes, and unhappy customers.
“I decided I didn't want to be like that anymore. I started making small changes. I kept my car clean, treated people kindly, and tried to make every ride a good experience. When customers appreciated it, I looked for more ways to improve.”
I asked him if all that effort had made a difference.
He laughed and said, “Absolutely! In my first year after changing my attitude, I doubled my income. This year, I expect to earn four times what I earned before. Now, customers call me directly to book their rides.”
Wasu hadn't waited for the world to change. He had started by changing himself.
And that made all the difference.
Sometimes, we spend so much time complaining about people, situations, and the things we cannot control that we forget to look at what we can change.
We can't always choose what happens to us, but we can choose how we respond.
So, the next time you feel like complaining about everything, remember Wasu.
Don't waste your energy quacking like a duck. Spread your wings and rise like an eagle.
Life can look very different when you change your attitude.

Elon Musk: I'm a big believer in the principles of Christianity.
“While I'm not a particularly religious person, I do believe that the teachings of Jesus are good and wise and that there's tremendous wisdom in Turn the other cheek.
For a while, when I was young, I thought that's really a weak thing to do.
With respect to bullies at school, I think you shouldn't turn the other cheek. You should punch them on the nose and then thereafter make peace with them. They need to stop bullying you, and a punch in the nose will stop that.
This notion of forgiveness is important. I think it's essential because if you don't forgive, then an eye for an eye makes everyone blind. If you're going to seek vengeance, you have this never-ending cycle of vengeance.
So, I'm actually a big believer in the principles of Christianity. I think they're very good.”
