State Rep. Carol Ammons is under federal indictment for taking more than $100,000 that allegedly went to her and her family. Her husband is the county clerk who runs the elections. She’s running completely unopposed.

Illinois House finally bothered to open an investigation into her on August 6, a full month after federal prosecutors charged her with wire fraud, kickbacks, and obstruction.

She claims she did nothing wrong. She’s still drawing a taxpayer salary. Champaign County voters get zero choice in November.
