In 1977, a young pharmacist named Stella Okoli opened a tiny retail pharmacy called Emzor Chemists in Shomolu, Lagos with ₦5,000 in her pocket.
Named after her three children: Emeka, Uzoma and Edward.
For seven years, she sold drugs to neighbourhood customers.
Then in 1984, she had a bigger vision: to manufacture, not just sell.
To raise the money, she asked her father for permission to use his house as collateral. He said yes.
She secured a ₦100,000 loan from the bank. Pilot production began in 1985 with one product: Emzor Paracetamol.
Today, that same Emzor Paracetamol controls roughly 25% of Nigeria’s pain relief market.
Emzor Pharmaceuticals now produces over 140 products. It has factories in Sagamu, Richfield, and Ajao. It exports across Africa, Europe, and Asia.
Stella Okoli is now one of Nigeria’s most powerful industrialists.
It started with a ₦5,000 shop. And a father who believed enough to risk his own house.
Sometimes the loan that builds an empire isn’t from a bank. It’s from family.

Fluoroquinolones exhibit concentration-dependent bactericidal activity, meaning efficacy correlates with the peak drug concentration to MIC ratio (C-max/MIC) and the AUC/MIC ratio (typically AUC/MIC >125 for gram-negatives). This supports once-daily high-dose dosing.
Popular Nigerian musician, Rema, is set to headline the 2026 World Cup in Los Angeles.
FIFA made this known in an Instagram post while unveiling the lineup artistes scheduled to perform at the event.
The singer is booked to perform at the World Cup opening ceremony on June 12 2026 alongside LISA, Katy Perry, Tyla, Future, and Anitta.
More details in comment section....
Fluoroquinolones inhibit two bacterial enzymes — DNA gyrase (topoisomerase II) and topoisomerase IV — preventing DNA supercoiling, replication, and repair, causing bactericidal cell death. Gram-negative bacteria are primarily targeted via gyrase; gram-positives via topo (IV)
Yesterday, I was in the pharmacy and a lady entered the pharmacy, she said she needed Klovinal pessaries, and if there is any other thing she can use. I greeted her and asked if I could know what exactly she is treating? She said “toilet infection”. I had a faint smile on my face immediately I heard the word. I asked her how did she get infected? She said she used a public toilet and feels she is having a toilet infection.
I started breaking things down for her, letting her know that the term “toilet infection” is a misnomer. Nothing like that, I talked about urinary tract infection and STDs. Then she asked why are people parading it? I told her it’s people exploiting loopholes to sell people things they don’t even need. That she doesn’t need to get the Klovinal, if she feels her body is itchy, there is a recommendation, but she said she didn’t feel anything at all. I told her then no need.
I believe more awareness needs to be shared on the topic, more and more people are being defrauded in the guise of treating toilet infection, nothing like that, to a great extent, it’s just antibiotic abuse.
The pharmacy profession has evolved from a "dispensing-only" model to a patient-centered, clinical role. This is a global shift that is increasingly essential within the Nigerian healthcare space.
Pharmacists today, all over the world are recognized not merely as drug distributors (or "dispensers" as the Nigerian doctors put it), but as indispensable medication experts, contributing heavily to patient care, safety, and outcomes.
That being said Pharmacists are CLINICIANS, Pharmacists are MEDICS.
Nigerian Doctors must accept these facts.
Then at UBA a colleague in sales got married to a lady in operations.
No drama from HR. Nobody was asked to resign. Nobody lost their job.
The only decision management made was simple. The husband was transferred to another branch within the same city.
I respected that.
If you understand how banking works, especially in operations, people spend almost their entire day at work. It is the same faces, the same pressure, the same environment, every single day.
It is only natural that people will form real connections in that space.
So when marriage happens banks should not force one person to resign.
I have seen many women bankers in their early to mid-thirties who are not married. Not because they do not want to be, but because work takes most of their time and energy. There is little room to meet people outside that environment.
In many cases, they end up marrying customers or people they meet through work.
It is not easy to find love outside work.

Cristiano Ronaldo walked into a random Gucci store in Madrid.
He met Georgina, a sales assistant, and introduced her to a life she never knew existed - a life that her €2.5K monthly salary wouldn't have dreamt.
Delusional Twitter women were asking her to leave. 😂
1 Peter 5:7 is almost reckless. Cast ALL your cares on Him. Not the noble ones. Not the ones that sound good in a sermon or carry weight. ALL of them.
Peter is writing to persecuted people with every kind of problem imaginable and he doesn’t curate the invitation. He doesn’t say “the serious ones only.” He says cast them all, because He cares for you.
Which means He cares about your funny problems. Your petty ones. The ones you’re embarrassed to even frame as a prayer. The ones too small for a therapist and too specific for a friend. The God who holds the cosmos together is apparently not too grand for any of it.
Shocking, maybe reckless but absolutely true.
Sometimes we just need to think deeper than we do. Did you know that this simple quadratic curve with its tangent is the core logic behind the Newton-Raphson method that we use to solve complex non-linear problems today?
The truth is: If you never struggled with this green graph paper, you would not know how to spot when a simulation is lying to you.
As a Master's student, I took a course on the Rheology of materials. This curve is part of the constitutive model we use to determine what type of property a material has.
Why does your toothpaste stay on the brush instead of running off like water? It is because of yield stress. The slope of these curves is what engineers study to make sure your paste only flows when you apply force to the tube.
This knowledge is a means to an end. You might not see the importance now, but if you study deeper and go higher in the STEM fields they are built for, you will see it.
I was in the Pharmacy some days ago and an Indian came to get Co-codamol, he gave his prescription, I documented it, showed him where he would sign, then he asked me, why does he have to sign?
I explained to him why, that Co-codamol is a controlled medication and some people abuse it. This is to ensure every one of it can accounted for when our regulatory bodies ask of it.
He now asked me, “so if I don’t have this prescription, you wouldn’t sell it to me”? I told him, yes. He was happy, he smiled, and I was wondering why he was happy about that information, lol. He said, “I like this”.
He now pointed at other medications on our shelves, “what about these ones”? I told him those are not controlled medications, they are OTC, and you do not need prescriptions for it. He thanked me, asked for my name, I told him, and he left.
Everything is good.
When Olusegun Obasanjo was looking for a Minister of Finance, he picked Malam Adamu Ciroma. A former CBN Governor and seasoned economic and policy adviser. He later picked Dr Ngozi Iweala, a PhD from MIT and a World Bank senior economic manager. Nenadi Usman was a junior minister and her appointment was strictly political. She didn't qualify for the role.
When Umaru Yar'adua was appointing a Finance Minister, he picked Dr Shamsuddeen Usman, a PhD from London School of Economics and Political Science, former Central Banker, former university academic, and former UBA manager. He later chose Dr Mansur Mukhtar, MSc Cambridge, PhD Sussex (Economics), Senior Economist, and former DG Debt Management Office.
Goodluck Jonathan appointed Olusegun Aganga, Senior Director at Ernst and Young London, MD Goldman Sachs London, World Bank and IMF Board Member. He later reappointed Dr Ngozi Iweala as Coordinating Minister for the Economy.
The rot started with the APC administration. Muhammadu Buhari appointed Kemi Adeosun. She has BSc Economics from the University of East London, a Postgraduate Diploma and certified Chartered Accountant as Finance Minister. She didn't even have NYSC certificate. He later appointed Zainab Shamsuna. She has BSc Accounting from ABU Zaria and MBA from Olabisi Onabanjo University. Was Executive Secretary at NEITI but had no relevant professional work experience in finance.
Bola Tinubu went tribal. He picked Wale Edun, a former Commissioner of Finance in Lagos and merchant banker. He has BSc, and MSc in Economics from the University of London. He later replaced him with Taiwo Oyedele, A HND holder in Accounting, MSc from Oxford Brookes, and former tax consultant at PwC. He has zero work experience in finance.
Dr Doris Nkiruka is a medical doctor. She's a Certified Finance Analyst and MBA holder but have zero work experience in finance administration.
Are you wondering why our economy has deteriorated under the APC administrations? The quality of their strategic appointments has been abysmal. It's either tribalism or nepotism. Merit is a second consideration!
It is not a stretch to call Peter Obi Nigeria’s political messiah. In the precise and particular context of Nigeria, with our specific vices and cultural dysfunctions, he is almost surgically constructed for what we need.
He is wealthy and accomplished, but frugal and unflashy. In a political culture that worships loud wealth as proof of relevance, that alone is countercultural.
He rejects tribalism, favoritism, and nepotism on principle. His children have no proximity to his governance. In Nigeria, in 2025, that is a rarity so extreme it almost reads as fiction.
He is adequately educated, and I mean that with precision. He will not look out of place among the sharpest technocrats and policy intellectuals in the world. He also fits seamlessly with the lowest of the low, with no performance required in either direction. That range is not common in any political class anywhere.
He has character. He has charisma. He has proven, documented competence.
Every single thing that makes Peter Obi who he is constitutes a direct, specific attack on something broken in our political culture. He is not merely an alternative. He is a rebuke. A living indictment of how we have normalized mediocrity, excess, and tribalism as the cost of leadership.
And that is precisely why so many reject him. We do not always want to be healed. Sometimes we just want our sickness validated.

Active recall being hard is exactly why you should do it.
Because the harder a study technique is, the better you'll learn & remember information.
Which means you’ll actually know the right answers when it really matters.
And that's how you pass your exams.
