Pleasure to chair our first Tradespeople APPG Roundtable in Parliament to discuss how we can better support Britain's tradespeople.

With 90% of tradespeople owning their own business, breaking down the barriers holding them back is vital.

Main talking points from the roundtable:

❌ Stopping the devastating rise in tool theft
🎓 Boosting vocational courses & apprenticeships
🛠️ Workplace health, standards, and the future of tech in the trade

Just been at our last Chadwell Heath Resident’s Association meeting before purdah. Always a pleasure to update with the work Rubina, Mukhtar and I have been doing in Whalebone Ward. Lots of positives outcomes to report tonight! 🌹

I met the Trussell Trust in Parliament today. They gave me their figures for my seat. All the food banks do outstanding work.
For me progress in our society will be when they are no longer needed.

A year ago today we launched the Dagenham & Rainham White Ribbon Strategy and set up a working group with local men and women to help us develop a plan to support the elimination of VAWG locally.

Fantastic organisations such as @UNWomenUK and more are supporting the calls this year for equal rights everywhere
