@ShamebyJames2@dandnd@mattyglesias Lmao. Sorry that you right wingers have an absolute loser like Hakeem Jefferies and have to cry about progressives โlyingโ
Pathetic, you and your leader
@hey_itsthatguy@mattyglesias@neeratanden Orโฆ they are corrupt, and Bernie was one of the few willing to tell it like it is. You right wing genocidal โliberalsโ are much closer to MAGA than you realize.
@GalacticRebirth@ryangrim@veldtbooks@hasanthehun The United States literally funds and arms a terrorist nation in the midst of committing an active genocide, and this is what youโre pearl clutching about? Lmfao
@mongymongmongy@HeerJeet@neeratanden@WajahatAli Lmao, you โcentristsโ live in such a bubble that you donโt realize how many Americans have this exact same sentiment. This country has gone to shit in so many ways, and here you are breathlessly defending 2026 Murica because youโre scared of Hasan.
This point about Hasan Piker is exactly right. This joint Dem/GOP/media campaign to vilify and destroy Hasan Piker (including with outright lies) isn't about him as a person.
He's just their most convenient vehicle at the moment to re-establish the long-standing bipartisan rule that going too far with criticisms of the US/Israel relationship (or being too successful with criticisms/activism against Israel) guarantees mainstream personal destruction by being widely branded a bigot, racist and anti-Semite over and over.
(Establishment Dems are most enthusiastic in these Hasan attacks because they have a separate motive: fear that they are losing control of their party to this insurgent anti-Israel and left-populist faction whom Hasan symbolizes, so destroying Hasan (and guaranteeing El-Sayed's loss for good measure) is an added bonus for them: similar to how the UK Labour Party preferred to lose to Boris Johnson in 2019 than win with Jeremy Corbyn, and Blairite Labour factions actually worked to help defeat their own leader).
I've had and voiced countless criticisms of Hasan over the years and he's done the same to me. They don't matter at all because, as @lliveandalive astutely notes here, none of this is really about Hasan himself but about re-equating Israel opposition with anti-Semitism. They've done it to countless other people before him (just look at Thomas Massie). Defending Hasan from the lies being told about him isn't about defending Hasan the person (although where lies are involved, such as the false claims about his most recent comments, he should be defended), but far more important are the broader policy issues at stake.
@ArtemBarshak@bizzcatt@KyleKulinski Yep, youโre right, we shouldnโt be sending them to โan enemyโโฆ so we certainly shouldnโt be sending them to a terrorist state like Israel. Glad you agree
@GibberCapital@magi_jay well, just as long as when you talk about every politician, you include their religion. Very odd behavior to say the least, but you do you buddy.
@SorokinJulia@magi_jay *we* lol. I absolutely love Rashida Tlaib, and i'm definitely still fond of AOC. I'm cheering on Francesca Hong today. I supported Melat Kiros in Colorado. Summer Lee. Cori Bush who got taken out by AIPAC.
You're right though, I can't forgive Warren for what she did in 2020
