3. As a result, personal liberty and economic freedom were willingly handed over to the central government for “safety.” (Or, as with “Net Neutrality,” that handover was attempted but failed.)
4. The effort perversely resulted in the exact opposite of the stated aims.
5. The only groups to benefit were (i) Democrat politicians, (ii) Deep State bureaucrats and (iii) an oligarchy of corporations who gained market control and coincidentally were huge Democrat donors.

Now consider how overnight the Democrats have uniformly decided AI is an existential threat to humanity that must be brought under the control of the powerful central government and a handful of existing oligarchs in the space.
