I attended all games at the old Texas Stadium that day, but left at halftime of this one. This was before cell phones. Got home and my dad asked if I enjoyed watching the greatest TX High School football game ever. I laughed thinking it was a joke. I had no idea what happened.
ON THIS DAY in 1994: Tyler John Tyler defeated Plano East, 48-44, after Roderick Dunn returned a kickoff 97 yards with 11 seconds left.
Plano East erased a 41-17 deficit with just THREE MINUTES to play before the kickoff return.
Is this the greatest #TXHSFB game ever played?🤔

YTD through the end of October, the S&P 500 was up 10.66% with the Magnificent 7 (MSFT, NVDA, AAPL, AMZN, GOOG, META, TSLA) making up more than 100% of the YTD return, meaning the other 493 companies combined were DOWN for the year.
Then November happened... the S&P 500 rose 9.13% for the month and the Magnificent 7 only accounted for 35% of the gain, the other 493 companies 65%.
So now YTD through Nov 30th, the S&P 500 is up 20.8% with the Magnificent 7 accounting for 70.4% of that return and the other 493 companies making up the other 29.6%.
Returns are broadening out. This is a good sign, its no longer just the Magnificent 7 driving growth.

It's hard to beat someone who:
(1) Shows up daily
Most people are inconsistent. They show up some days and not others. When they're motivated, they have bursts of intensity. When they're not, they struggle to make progress. It's nearly impossible to compound your efforts this way. You don't need to be a hero. Commit to showing up each day and pushing the rock forward.
(2) Wants to improve
It's not human nature to continuously learn. We reach a certain level of competence or success and feel we've figured it out. We believe if we keep doing the same things, we'll be good. But this is a lie. The highest performers have insatiable appetites for learning and improving. They're relentless about growth. Always remember: you're never too good to get better.
(3) Commits to the work
Improvement is a process. There's no way to cheat it, regardless of what the internet may tell you. Everyone starts at the beginning and endures a journey. There's no "end." If you want to become your best, commit to the process of work it will require.
(4) Refuses to give in or quit
Life is challenging. Along your journey of improvement will be mistakes, failures and hardship. Nobody is immune. Just stay in the fight. When things get hard, rely on your ability to show up consistently. Take quitting off the table, and you cannot lose.
Develop these 4 character traits, and you're unstoppable.
Brayden has a week off before summer workouts start at school. So, he and I went to the gym together! Man, time flies.
**Side note - he saw the amount of weight I lifted and said he’s coming for me. Guess I better get back in the routine.
