Delighted to be co-leading this collaboration with Nic Wisniacki at GSK

1/ Exactly one year after my PhD defense, I am very excited to share with you the last chapter of my thesis published today in @Nature about humans with inherited TNF deficiency: https://t.co/qzsRqPC3pU.
Interested in #genomics? Fulled funded UKRI PhD studentship available in @lab_peters at @imperialcollege London. UK Home students eligible for this scheme.
@lab_peters@teichlab@Muzz_Haniffa@ClatworthyLab Finally, we identified a population of transcriptionally distinct monocytes that emerged in peripheral blood following glucocorticoid treatment - the “dex monocyte” do have a read !
delighted to have worked with @lab_peters@teichlab@Muzz_Haniffa@ClatworthyLab on this study. great work by first authors Emily Stephenson, Lisa Dratva and Erin Macdonald-Dunlop. Thanks to all our patients most of all
Our study on severe #COVID19 in end stage kidney disease patients with matched pre-pandemic samples from a broad cohort of 61 individuals is on medRxiv! https://t.co/MGQK96ULzp
@lab_peters@teichlab@Muzz_Haniffa@ClatworthyLab Evaluation of clonal T cell dynamics showed that the fastest expanding clones were significantly enriched in known SARS-CoV-2 specific sequences and shared across multiple patients. Our analyses also revealed novel TCR clones that are likely reactive to SARS-CoV-2.
@lab_peters@teichlab@Muzz_Haniffa@ClatworthyLab We identified gene expression signatures of severity, with the majority of pathways differentiating mild from severe disease in B cells and monocytes.
@lab_peters@teichlab@Muzz_Haniffa@ClatworthyLab We collected samples before and during COVID-19 infection from the same individuals. We performed dense longitudinal sampling during infection, allowing us to study intra-individual changes over time among patients with a wide spectrum of COVID-19 severity.
@lab_peters@teichlab@Muzz_Haniffa@ClatworthyLab We studied two cohorts of end-stage kidney disease patients prior to the introduction of vaccination. This is one of the patient groups most at risk from severe COVID-19.
I've put together a set of links for the various career development advice articles I've been writing for the past ~20 years, here arranged by career stage:

Hope it is helpful to some people!
I'm recruiting a Postdoc for a comparative innate immunity project to define cross-species mechanisms of pathogen sensing, in collaboration with @ClareBryant13 and Sandhya Ganesan. Can involve travel to partners in India. Please RT. Full advert here: https://t.co/3u0NzeYVz2
@Dr_James_Lee The paper outlines the central role of ETS2 in driving macrophage inflammatory responses, dissects how this distal enhancer for ETS2 expression is a risk locus in numerous genetic studies and outlines new therapeutic possibilities in IBD.
Even a bit of ROS too !
So great to see this work published and delighted to have collaborated with the Lee lab. Fantastic work from Christina Stankey, Christophe Bourges, Lea Maxie Haag and colleagues, led @Dr_James_Lee
