Whatever you do, pray for the ability to see your own sins, your own hypocrisy, and your own shortcomings. Never get so carried away pointing fingers that you forget you, too, fall short.
In theory, consistency is about being disciplined, determined, and unwavering.
In practice, consistency is about being adaptable. Don't have much time? Scale it down. Don't have much energy? Do the easy version. Find different ways to show up depending on the circumstances. Let your habits change shape to meet the demands of the day.
Adaptability is the way of consistency.
Underrated social skill: Letting someone have their moment. One-uppers are exhausting. Real confidence lets others feel seen, heard, celebrated. Don’t hijack the story. Don't bring it back to you. Secure people don't steal attention.
RIP @chucknorris. In 1990 he founded Chun Kuk Do, which included these principles to live by:
1. I will develop myself to the maximum of my potential in all ways.
2. I will forget the mistakes of the past and press on to greater achievements.
3. I will continually work at developing love, happiness and loyalty in my family.
4. I will look for the good in all people and make them feel worthwhile.
5. If I have nothing good to say about a person, I will say nothing.
6. I will always be as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
7. I will maintain an attitude of open-mindedness.
8. I will maintain respect for those in authority and demonstrate this respect at all times.
9. I will always remain loyal to my God, my country, family and my friends.
10. I will remain highly goal-oriented throughout my life because that positive attitude helps my family, my country and myself.
sometimes even an apology can't fix what happened because the real issue isn't the mistake, it's the part of your character that allowed you to do it in the first place. and you can't apologize for character.
You keep getting “used” because you broadcast your incentives like a billboard. You want approval, so you overgive. You want peace, so you avoid conflict. You want to be seen as good, so you tolerate disrespect. Study your own incentives first, because the world will always exploit what you refuse to regulate.
Be COLD. Be MEAN.
Make people earn your kindness, your trust, your attention & your time.. Being nice just get you misused & fucking abused ❗️🤷🏾♀️
