The Press Club of India, Indian Women’s Press Corps, Delhi Union of Journalists,
Press Association, and Kerala Union of Working Journalist strongly condemn and
call for punitive action against Delhi Police officials posted at the Saket Police Station,
including the Station House Officer (SHO), for brutally assaulting freelance journalists
Shaheen Khan and Nafisa Khan while they were reporting about the inauguration of a
new wing at the Max Hospital in Saket by Home Minister, Amit Shah and Delhi Chief
Minister, Rekha Gupta.

DUJ condemns the police brutality. The police have attacked dozens of journalists who were covering the protests. Several social media personalities who came to express solidarity with the protesters and to make videos and social media posts on the protests were also not spared.

DUJ dips its flags on the passing away of veteran journalist and a former member of our Executive Committee Cecil Victor. He was known for his incisive articles on defence and other policy matters. He passed away on Tuesday, November 4, after prolonged illness. Our condolences.

The All India Lawyers Union (AILU) protested in front of the Supreme Court against the attempt to attack Chief Justice BR Gavai. DUJ expresses solidarity with the AILU and condemns the efforts to intimidate the judiciary. Attacker must be arrested soon.
