Here's a happy person who passed her viva today! Thanks to my reviewers @seis_matters and Jon Gluyas for making it such an enjoyable experience, and to all the people that help along the way! ❤️🤗

Thanks to @StCuthsCrook for participating in such a fantastic day of geoenergy and palaeoclimate change at Harehope Quarry, Weardale with @DurUniEarthSci Year-3 undergraduates😀
Had an amazing weekend in Snowdonia 🏴 climbing the Gylderau range and Mt Snowdon via the Crib Goch Arête. Great weather with some stunning views of Wales. Bonus points for some cool geology like big sigma-type porphyroclasts and beautiful columnar jointed rhyolite.
For anyone interested in working with me on a PhD in this area I am advertising the following project through @IapetusDTP please get in touch if you're interested https://t.co/R1AqYeJkyj
2 fully-funded PhD positions in Madeleine Humphrey's @ERC_Research project STEMMS:

Another preprint alert! 🚨🚨 https://t.co/6SDV25sDmX Check out our work examining changes in fault reactivation and coupling along-strike and how this affects inheritance!
Empirical models and InSAR coherence methods can both be used to detect triggered landslides after an earthquake, but what if we combine the two? A preprint of our new paper is open for discussion at https://t.co/gZdhAY1Qfa

A day out in the field today! Doing some reconnaissance/planning for a future Covid-safe local geophysics trip for @DurUniEarthSci students - Magnetic and EM surveying searching for a buried dyke - with an interested audience at times... 🐄 🐮
Our new preprint is online! We use 3D numerical modelling to examine how crust with laterally changing lithologies and strength affects rift physiography
What makes a good Ph.D. supervisor? Just delivered a really interesting workshop with Prof Del Atkinson (Physics Durham) to reassure new supervisors and enhance best practice @DurUniEarthSci@DurhamPhysics@EducByDesign😀👩🎓🧑🎓👨🎓
Call for abstracts is now open for the William Smith Virtual Conference in October on Geological Mapping!! Deadline 18th June. See you there😃@geolsoc@TSG_since1970 @EnergyGroupGSL @GRSG_GeolSoc
Interested in a very short-notice cost estimate of broad band seismometers- anyone know some rough estimates off the top of their head? E.g. Guralp 3T/ESP, nanometrics trillium compact etc.
It's my first @EuroGeosciences conference! Come and hear about the interesting crustal structure around Istanbul - a mishmash of ancient crustal blocks stretched out by modern day tectonics - Wed EGU21-6040.
Hopefully the conference technically issues will be sorted by then🤞
If you missed the presentation, it is not too late to join us for the rest of the session on Multiscale rock damage and then chat in a breakout room!
The session will be running until 10.30 am https://t.co/s8viTrZ51P
