Proud and still a bit shocked to announce that I have won the PhD presentation prize at the Petroleum Geology Student Contest sponsored by @Shell in Calvello, Italy.
Congrats to Jack Lee @JackLeeCalcite on his @Shell presentation prize. Jack kicks off our @yorksgeolsoc Xmas online lectures 1st December 4pm on 'deformation and fluid flow in the Cleveland Basin' - register for the whole series of 4 talks at https://t.co/gzjHAuLxD2 #YGSRocks
@nickmwroberts@yorksgeolsoc I have samples of the fault related cone-in-cone. I have also found large pieces of cone-in-cone associated with concretions and I suspect that this is the latter.
I have found similar cone-in-cone structures at this location. Mostly in the loose material near the pier. In addition, there is some in a fault just before the landslide further down the beach.
The first virtual Faultea meeting was a tea-riffic success! Fun to catch up with colleagues and friends via Microsoft Tea-ms. Looking forward to next week ☕☕ @DurUniEarthSci@durham_uni
This is Chocolate Extinction, my and @Gneiss_Laura's @DurUniEarthSci bake off entry. Based on a Liassic ichthyosaur from the Cleveland Basin for an early #FossilFriday.
