I’m surprised we don’t see more NFT collections try burns & remints.

The normalized 10k supply count is so arbitrary. Clearly demand does not support it.

We continue to see projects expand cross-chain, but this basically never benefits the community long term. I get it, the idea is to grow the pie, but let’s be real, no one is fooled into thinking these expansionary collections are anything but exit liquidity events.

NFT expansions usually prolong issues rather than solve them, basically kicking the can down the road.

A burn & re-mint could offer a fresh start with a renewed sense of hope. Maybe it wouldn’t be dissimilar from remastered games & movies that clean things up, offer a familiar experience a/ a twist, & evoke nostalgia. People are always hungry for new art & content if the narrative hits.

I know this isn’t the solution to NFTs, but just a thought that crossed my mind today, because I still see projects attempting to launch new cross chain mints. Just figured I’d jump on here and rant a bit.

If your community is strong enough I bet supporters would even pay a small sum to contribute to a burn and remint if it meant avoiding a diluted experience. Perhaps on a schedule, one could initiate continuous supply burns (with a final number in mind) to curate an increasingly exclusive group. This would trim the fat & probably make for a more high impact holder base. Again, I don’t think loyal and passionate community members would mind contributing funds to this idea if it meant keeping the community tight and giving the team a bit of money to continue operating.
