A female mandrill and her infant pose for an intimate portrait. Mandrills usually give birth to just one baby, which is born with the ability to immediately open its eyes and cling tightly to mom’s belly.

This speckled beauty is an Amazonian monkey frog. The distinctive fringe on this species’ legs is a form of camouflage, breaking up the outline of the frog so it looks like part of a leaf or lichen growing on a tree. Little is known about how this species behaves in the wild.

Meet Boo, a spectacled bear. This species got its name because of the
rings of light fur around the eyes, which look like a pair of glasses. Very little is known about these bears, but we do know that habitat loss is driving them out into the open, leading to run-ins with humans.

Red-flanked duikers are one of the smallest species of antelope, measuring in at less than 15 in tall and weighing no more than 31 lbs. Aside from their small size, this species can be identified by the large preorbital glands on their snout, which form bulges in their cheeks.
