Yesterday the head of the Hawaiʻi housing emergency proclamation working group resigned after far-right conspiracy theorists, screaming on social media that the government started the Maui fires, went after her loved ones with slanderous lies.

The housing proclamation working group testimony showed a clear contrast: a tidal wave of supportive written testifiers OVERWHELMINGLY DEMANDED we build housing for our people. Those opposing the proclamation largely repeated conspiracy theories about the Lahaina tragedy.
