Zimbabwe claims its economy is more than twice the size of Zambia’s and roughly the same size as Uganda’s. This despite Zambia consuming considerably more electricity and fuel, while Uganda runs a national budget twice the size of Zimbabwe’s.
Analysts have a duty to test claims and publish their findings. That is precisely what economic analysis is for. Official statistics are not holy writ, in many ways they benefit from critical analysis and feedback. Which technical feedback we have happily supplied .
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Why list instead of selling to a trade buyer? The public pays more and asks less.
Takura sells at 13.5x last year's profit, keeps 69% and every vote, and can sell the rest any time. No lock up. A trade buyer would have seen the June numbers.
Take every instance of "Somalia" mentioned by this young man in the video and replace it with "Nigeria".
The Arab imperialist playbook will become very clear to you.

Nothing stays secret forever!
On 8 February 1972, Ian Smith chaired a SECRET meeting of Rhodesia's United Kingdom Committee in the Cabinet Room in Salisbury.
The meeting discussed the detention of former Prime Minister Garfield Todd and his daughter, Judith, and how the Rhodesian government should respond to the Pearce Commission.
More than 54 years later, the minutes offer a fascinating glimpse into what Smith and his officials discussed behind closed doors.
History has a way of revealing its secrets.
Today I had the pleasure of hosting Tim Mangwedi, Director of the Johannesburg Film Festival, at my home in Joburg.
We spoke about the urgent need to lift up talented young Black filmmakers in Zimbabwe and South Africa, people with powerful stories who rarely get the tools or the platform to tell them.
I have two brand new P2 cameras, and I proposed to Tim that we put them in the hands of young filmmakers to tell the stories of our two countries in documentary form.
Film is powerful. It shapes how future generations will understand their past, and what we record today becomes the history they inherit tomorrow.
If you are a filmmaker in Zimbabwe or South Africa with a story to tell, and you feel you have been overlooked, this is your moment. Make yourself known.
Our success as filmmakers means nothing if it does not open doors for the young people coming after us.
Mr Mangwedi grew up in Alexandra, and I grew up in Glen Norah in Harare. We both know what it means to have talent and no one to show you the way.
Big houses and expensive cars are not a legacy. If we enjoy the rewards of our work while young people from the same townships we came from still have no one to give them a chance, then we have failed them.
Our success will only matter if it becomes generational, if it is passed on, shared and multiplied. That is the work we are committing ourselves to.
@MthuliNcube01 Eish madoda, ukuwa kwendoda yikuvuka kweyinye. So it’s confirmed then, your CV & certificates avele kasasebenzi & you now a full time politician & not a technocrat? Plz balance it for me elder.
@tawandan1 Those invaders are most probably ZanuPF thugs. No person in this country can do that with no political backing, and its only ZanuPF that has such thuggery & provides such backing.
You are the President’s man, go appeal to him
@KMutisi Yah, driving forward but using the rear view mirrors, shem. Priorities priorities, how will we catch up with the rest of the region at this rate?
There's only one reason I supported you, @edmnangagwa, after you took over in 2018.
You said we must "leapfrog" our regional peers in terms of development.
You made this statement on June 30, 2018, during a visit to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, ahead of the July 2018 elections.
That single word, for me, captured the aspirations of everyone born since 1980 in the country (86% of everyone alive in Zim today).
That statement meant you were targeting building infrastructure etc that bettered or at least equalled the most infrastructurally advanced countries in the region.
It's dissapointing therefore, to see that you & the people around you are celebrating patch-working two-lane roads (such as the Harare-Masvingo highway) or painting old hospitals, mischaracterising these as cutting-edge developments.
Frighteningly, every single person in government & in @ZANUPF_Official clearly thinks that "rehabilitation" of 90 year old roads is "the pinnacle of achievement".
They believe this is not only enough, but so excellent that they are entitled to be in power for another 40 years!
New coats of paint on crumbling hospitals, abuse of sugar tax revenue while the whole country doesn't have a single PET-scan machine. Not one.
"Leapfrogging" meant that we would seek to build proper freeways instead of 1950s roads etc.
It's disgusting, @edmnangagwa.
Now, people around you think it more important to fight for you, Mr President, to continue ruling until you're 150years old.
I have no problem with extensions etc, BUT, the scale of our national ambition must be greater than what we are currently told to celebrate.
If it isn't, you don't deserve another single week in office.
Policies (some of which I will speak of in another post) continue to actively dissuade both Chinese & Western investors.
What we are celebrating now as "investments" from China is chump change for that country, with the same importance as a silver coin that falls down a drain.
Realigning these policies to our national ambitions (regardless of party) would unlock tens of billions of dollars from China into Zim.
These policies blocking blockbuster investments, as you will understand when I explain in another post, serve no party, political or sovereign interest at all.
Instead of focusing on this (in addition to declaring yourself Eternal President if you wish), your henchmen are focused on inanities while asking us to applaud the crawling of a 46yr old toddler.
In the last 5 years, Mozambique, a Marxist one-party state, attracted 623.5% more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) than Zimbabwe!
The only thing that made this difference was policies designed to make capital feel comfortable.
And, before your choir responds with jabs at FDI, let me point out that the same things that are stopping local capital from being deployed (US$38 billion sitting idle in Zimbabwean private hands) are the same things stopping foreign capital, be it Chinese or Western.
You need to go back to that "vision" that you appeared to have hoodwinked Zimbabweans with in 2018.
If not, I can assure you 100% percent, even #CAA3 won't be a match for the savyness of the Zimbabwean voter in kicking your party out at the next election, whenever they may be.
Peace. Out.

@ShamaseI80733@edmnangagwa Last I checked, Ian Smith had only two bodyguards, one to act as driver & the other to go everywhere with him - & this was during the war of liberation when he most probably most at risk. Meanwhile our guy here…
