I once lost a patient in the ward corridor. She had been referred in, but was wheeled from casualty to the ward against my advice. There was no bed. No oxygen port. Nothing I could use to save her.
The sound of a patient gasping for air is something you never forget.
It doesn’t fade.
It doesn’t leave.
It stays with you.
We carry this trauma every day because we’ve witnessed things most people never will. We’ve watched patients fight to survive in a system that fails them.
There is no “end date” to that kind of trauma.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. If you watch this video enough times you will feel your nervous system regulate or begin to. Stay with it. Feel the beauty that is my favorite hormone (and it’s not even close) - oxytocin. This is one to keep in bookmarks if you have trouble coming out of crisis. Your body is a primal system that needs these signals.
I JUST HEARD SOMEONE SAY, “MAYBE YOU DON’T NEED MORE TIME TO HEAL, MAYBE YOU NEED MORE EXPERIENCES THAT SHOW YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM A DIFFERENT REALITY,” AND YEAH… IT ECHOED IN ME
do not borrow shame from the past. You are not that person anymore and you simply didn't know better. No reason to beat yourself up for it. All you can do is really do better.

63 years ago Laika became the first animal to orbit the Earth. She died in space; alone, in agony, and terrified.
She was a stray who was plucked from the streets of Moscow, selected for her small size and bright coat (that would show up nicely on film.)
She passed away five hours after she was thrust into orbit (although for over 40 years the truth was covered up and officials insisted she was alive for days after take-off.)
She died due to overheating. The satellite wasn’t sufficiently insulated from the sun’s rays, and she essentially cooked to death.
The Soviets admitted that they never planned for her to make a return trip, and knew she would perish in the experiment.
“Laika, the first animal to be launched into orbit, died from overheating and panic in the tiny spacecraft – all alone and in severe pain.”
“The more time passes, the more I’m sorry about it. We shouldn’t have done it.”
Remember Laika, and the millions of other animals needlessly used in experiments worldwide each year ❤️
It does… but only if you do the self work. Unlearn the stuff you were taught growing up because most of it comes from unhealed people around us. Learn about financial literacy, go to therapy if you need to, travel & make memories even if you have to do it alone or with 1 person.
Remember: perception is reality. Create the life you really want for yourself. Don’t worry about who’s looking, watching or cheering for you. Your tribe and support system will naturally build itself.
Oh… take ur vitamins, drink water and mind ur business.
Most importantly, keep God first and everything will work itself out 🤗
