Portmarnock Golf Club clearly deserves the accolades it annually receives. Superb amenities, hospitable staff and a classic links golf course that is challenging but fair. The greens were, by far, the best I have experienced this week in Ireland

Following Monday’s superb episode with Richard Fisher on the history of the event, we’re now joined by Dr Darragh Garrahy - Dublin’s leading authority on pace putting and amateur golf - who shares his top five Walker Cup stories from the past 49 editions, along with his All-Star squad of 10 players.

Darragh is obsessed with the Walker Cup, collecting artefacts from its history including 48 programmes, crockery from Ganton, and 50 year old blazers. While we’re grateful for his time, deep down we know he needs little encouragement to talk about the event he loves.
