The 1984 Amateur Championship final - Monty vs Olazabal at @FormbyGolfClub
Would pay good change to go back and watch these two do battle on the links.
Portmarnock Golf Club clearly deserves the accolades it annually receives. Superb amenities, hospitable staff and a classic links golf course that is challenging but fair. The greens were, by far, the best I have experienced this week in Ireland
Not sure if it is true or not, but I heard whispers that it is being considered to host a future Open Championship!
US nonprofit hospitals spent $7.8 billion on management consultants from 2009 to 2023, but contracts were not associated with meaningful changes in finance, operations, or quality of care. 🧵

More, please! The Masters has become our last bastion of decorum, where Karens and Kens definitely don’t want to speak with the management. https://t.co/MJvilHkI3M
Watching the old Masters clips with the beautiful sounds of persimmon and balata made me think of something Dick Helmstetter (inventor of Big Bertha) said of Tommy Nakajima
There's a case to be made that many of the things I critique are simply the contemporary way of doing things. After all, they're more widespread than what I advocate for. But let me give you an alternative view: what we're witnessing is the loss of cultural language. 🧵
Too many clubs keep course changes behind closed doors, so hats off to Formby for such a transparent and refreshing approach 👏🏼
Great too to see Joe and Sam’s work taking shape too – the plans look superb.
Following Monday’s superb episode with Richard Fisher on the history of the event, we’re now joined by Dr Darragh Garrahy - Dublin’s leading authority on pace putting and amateur golf - who shares his top five Walker Cup stories from the past 49 editions, along with his All-Star squad of 10 players.
Darragh is obsessed with the Walker Cup, collecting artefacts from its history including 48 programmes, crockery from Ganton, and 50 year old blazers. While we’re grateful for his time, deep down we know he needs little encouragement to talk about the event he loves.
A must-listen before the weekend gets under way.

Tom Simpson was a true artist — not just in how he built his courses, but in the detail of his sketches long before construction began.
Take our 10th green, for example, wonderfully restored by @cdpgolf1
