@RaeAnnaLee_AFP@raeannakay Local decision makers are in the best position to know what is best for their communities and what works best as it relates to infrastructure capacity and a host of other considerations. One size fits all dictates from St. Paul won’t solve the many problems with housing market.
@theficouple You do both. Pay mortgage bi-weekly and also invest in the stock market because you get more than 4.8. More like 7-8 percent or more in some years. Buy paying mortgage biweekly you can take 5 years off your mortgage.
@matthewtalmage@joecarlsonshow In response to your fourth paragraph, paying rent and mortgage isn’t equivalent though. Paying rent gets you nothing in return. It’s just money out the door for the privilege of living in a house you don’t own. Paying your mortgage reduces your debt and builds equity.
@mmiller404 If I’ve got a grocery delivery, I’d like to know when it arrives. Maybe I’m doing something around the house and not looking at my phone to see a notification!
@JamesSurowiecki I think it’s a pretty reasonable and correct argument that a federal government entity has to exist within one of the three branches of government. The constitution created three branches of government and nothing can exist outside of one of the three.
@mattyglesias People who actually decide these things might have constituents who don’t what a seven story building going up next to their single family home.
@ClayTravis I completely disagree with this as far as the rings. You should have a nice ring to wear because you are going to wear it the rest of your life. Why would you want to wear a cheap little ring for the rest of your life when you could have a nice bigger one? The cost is negligible
Thanks to @davepinto, @jonkoznick, and @spencerigomn! This was a really insightful discussion on the legislative process and the 67-67 tie in the MN House.
