Feel like I should start tapping the sign when I get into the convo of quality that its not about the country of origin, its literally about the amount of work and effort put into the garment. Cutting corners shows up in all aspects of construction.
Also there is something funny about the author being a BIG fan of Marilyn Manson and putting a bunch of references of him in the anime while wanting to show scenes that reference SA...like google this artist a bit first.
@serepuff Meanwhile in Lolita we not only have a ton of brands to go with for styling but enough history to play with. Old school is our y2k revival trend, and brands actively rerelease older items because there is demand there. No need to hunt for old meta Gobelin when new meta does it.
@serepuff I also noticed that a lot of “kei” styles ended up being just magazine or brand styling. It then only lasts as long as a trend cycle because it’s not as defined as we thought. Larme was just a magazine, CPK was really from store staff styling.
@nanakopoupee Yes, the replicas used to be everywhere, on amazon even. It actually got a lot of ppl into the fashion but truth the harsh truth that they got scammed, was one of the most well known replicas for years. These are the most common replicas of MM.
@suchafairytale It’s not fine on lm you can give a neg feedback because it’s considered backing out of the sale.
Depop ppl will learn lm etiquette if they want to keep using it.
@morosexo For ref, the reason it became this way is because ppl DID see lolita as just gothic lolita. When you look at how lolita was seen in like 2006 it was always gothic that was shown or talked about in the news. Sweet outfits were also mistakenly called goth at this time.
@morosexo It was easier to do this because a lot of people would get annoying about the word lolita, and has been the go to term for over 20 years.
We know its not technically correct but we are used to being bothered about the name and EGL is a way to sidestep it.
