@dougoster1 I’ve been growing heirloom tomatoes for 12 yrs saving seeds each year. The last 2 years yield has been poor. I have 17 healthy plants, good foliage/stalks, dozens of blooms. 4 tomatoes! Nursery Romas are doing great. Could years of saving seeds reduce fertility?

@dougoster1 hey Doug. Some of our garlic plants have scape-like shoots out of the base that split the plant and loop around but both ends are connected to the plant. Also our tomato plants have tons of blossoms but very few are bearing fruit. Pollinators are around. Thoughts?

@dougoster1 hey Doug. My tomato plants are healthy and large but I’m not getting much fruit. Tons of blossoms, plenty of pollinators in the area but minimal fruit. Blossoms are dying off, here’s a pic

@dougoster1 Hopefully we’ll have some pics to post. We were browsing the Seeds of Italy catalogue and it piqued our interest. It was great to eat sautéed with olive oil and garlic or blended with pasta.

@dougoster1 Hey Doug, we’re planting Agretti again this year. Is it too early to plant now? Torn between the soil temp maybe being too cold, but we know the seeds are fragile and don’t stay viable too long.

@dougoster1 Last year we had zero germination rate but read that it was a common problem. Two years ago we direct sewed in April and had a great crop. Probably should do the same.

Overnight the entire patch of beets decimated. No signs of entry. Fencing. Critter(s) went right for the root not the greens. Also got our spinach chard.

@dougoster1 our lawn has been overrun by a nasty vine. Someone called it henbit but not sure. Looks similar. We have ~.5 acre of lawn and it’s everywhere so manual removal is not a good option. Thinking of aerating and overseeding to try and overtake it. Any thoughts?
