Multiple plane spotters filmed and photographed a KC-135 Stratotanker and several other aircraft supporting a test refueling flight by a B-21 Raider today over Eastern California. During the first week of February, three U.S. Navy ships transited the Malacca Strait northbound with little fanfare, entering the Indian Ocean.

The trap was set. Expeditionary Sea Base USS Miguel Keith (ESB 5), embarked with U.S. special forces, and destroyer USS Pinckney (DDG 91) were en route to intercept sanctioned oil tanker Aquila II. Aquila departed Venezuela the morning of Operation Absolute Resolve, and the U.S. has been in pursuit since. Yesterday, U.S. forces converged and conducted a “right-of-visit, maritime interdiction and boarding on the Aquila II without incident.”

USS John Finn (DDG 113), forward-deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, as part of Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, took up station near Diego Garcia, providing air defense coverage at the key U.S. base. If the U.S. plans to position bombers at Naval Support Facility (NSF) Diego Garcia, like April 2025, an Aegis destroyer would be a key asset to have in place prior.

The Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group is operating in the northern Arabian Sea, prepared for combat ops 24/7.
