Imagine doing web development on a platform where you can only see the result of a change 15 minutes after you've made it.

That's the world I live in. Our embedded Linux environment requires the code to be compiled to be able to go onto a device.

Because that's what my employer thinks. Also, one of their "background scanners" makes my RAM sit at 85% utilization when I have no applications I use open.

@wtravishubbard I learned PHP and MySQL via a book. The book had a real project to work through and build upon though so that probably helped a lot way back in early PHP days lol

@xsgames_ No I have so many other things to do that bring me joy than coding.

Now, if I were an Indie game developer that might be different but as an Embedded Linux developer - No.

I was wanting to make my first mod for LOTRO and while merrily making it.. I found out they already had a mod and it was better and bigger than what i was working on.
