A released Palestinian prisoner says in Arabic that Israel held them in the cold w/o electricity, "sprayed us w/ pepper spray" & "left us to die."
She never mentioned Hamas or a word like it. Yet @BBC translated to: "No one helped us. Only Hamas cared...We love them very much."
Let me tell you a few things clearly:
Israel on October 7th, and without it, it was bombing Gaza. I work in a border school affiliated with the UNRWA. We were always asked to wear loose-fitting clothes to help us escape in case of bombing.
More than half of the students in my class, not only have martyrs in the family but also witnessed the deaths of martyrs in front of their eyes. In other words, more than three-quarters of the students in my school have psychological trauma. More than once, we fled the school during random bombardments. More than once, we hid in our classrooms and sat on the ground (like a CNN anchor), but this time I had 40 students in the class that I had to protect, and I couldn't even protect myself. Many times we would return to school, not in a state of war, only to find a girl who was martyred, or someone seriously injured in the hospital because an Israeli soldier targeted her while she was at home. The residents of Beit Hanoun live on their agricultural land, which is on the border. Go ask them about the tragedies they live and have experienced. How many times have their crops been burned? How many times have individuals been targeted while peacefully farming?
Before October 7th, Israel used to attack safe muslim women performing prayer in Jerusalem, prevent them from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque for days, and hold futile and repeated celebrations, chanting racist slogans to provoke the people of Jerusalem. The people of Gaza need a permit to enter the West Bank, which is often denied (for education, work, treatment, everything is the same, prohibited). Personally, I am 32 years old and have never visited Jerusalem or any other city in Palestine.
Serious medical cases in need of referral to the West Bank are often delayed, and approval is withheld until the patient dies, and many cases end up being referred after their death.
Checkpoints in the West Bank have spread to the point that traveling from one area to another, which used to take 15 minutes, now takes two hours due to the stops and waiting. Israel arrests men, women, and children and detains them without charge or trial, torturing and tormenting them in prisons without accountability. And if they are released in deals that happen once in a lifetime, they are banished to another city far from their families, unless they are captured as prisoners again. Settlers occupy houses in the West Bank, steal them, and reside in them (imagine that suddenly), and the Palestinian who was sleeping in that house yesterday is kicked out under the protection of the occupation government.
Even Palestinians inside Israel, who are supposed to have Israeli citizenship are not safe; they are treated as second-class citizens, considered minorities, and are prevented from many jobs. They are attacked by gangs and subjected to discrimination.
And now, do you still condemn Hamas?
Bernardo Silva is in his peak years & has been one of the best players in Europe for the last five years!
I wasn’t worried about the Saudi League taking players in their 30’s, a touch worried with players below the elite (Neves) but if this happens it feels like a game changer 👀
Saudi have taken over Golf, the big Boxing fights & now they want to take over football!!
This sports washing needs to be stopped! @premierleague@UEFA
