It's worth putting the Southampton penalty in some context. Chelsea were charged with something like 74 cases of financial impropriety, paying agents and entities off the books over a decade, and received just a fine. Manchester City have been found guilty twice by UEFA. Fined. They face another 115, well, maybe 130, additional charges from the PL. Guilt and penalty yet to be decided.

Think you're completely missing the point.

People are driven to vote, in part, based on UK party positions on those conflicts. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm not a massive fan of genocide.

Also, I'm not a fan of:

- backsliding on climate action to support the fossil fuel industry.
- policies that massively favour tax breaks for the rich.
- policies that cut social protections for millions.
- leaving the ECHR under the false premise of immigration, when it's a move to control the population and a further gift to Big business.
- bringing ICE style forces to UK streets.
- blaming immigrants for inequality when it is, in fact, systemic in policies, largely created by right-wing politics.
- supporting Trump, the rise of authoritarianism, and throw back to colonialism.

25 years ago today a University course-mate of mine, and his friend, were tragically killed by a drunk driver in Nottingham.

Rob Bradley and Alex Veeder were 20 and 21 with bright futures ahead of them.

Rob & I were both studying broadcast journalism and I often wonder what he might have gone on to do - not afforded the chance at life I’ve had.

Rob and his family are particularly in my thoughts today.
