Bacon/pork: Yes, explicitly prohibited (haram) in the Quran for observant Muslims.

Women showing hair: Quran 24:31 and hadiths require hijab modesty covering hair in public for women

Depictions of the Prophet: Strong prohibition on images of Muhammad

Music: Many hadiths criticize instruments and certain music as haram or makruh; opinions can be total ban

Dogs: Dog saliva is considered ritually impure in most schools of Islamic jurisprudence. Keeping dogs as pets is discouraged or forbidden

Gays and homosexuality: Islam condemn it. Criminalized with severe penalties

Marrying a 6-year-old refers to the hadith accounts of Aisha’s marriage to Muhammad (betrothed at 6-7, consummated at 9). This is acceptable

The world it envisions for all of us is small, flat and gray - leveled of all exception, drained of all that is good and noble in the human soul. It is a world without courage, creativity, or ambition; without heroes or glory or great causes to strive towards. Without miracles.

Without myths. Without men who rise above the rest to do incredible and extraordinary things. Without God.

For these architects of revolutionary violence, the towering achievements of our civilization are an unbearable humiliation - a reminder of what they cannot do or be.

So they choose to destroy. They attack pipelines, railroads, laboratories, power grids: the physical, embodied symbols of power, invention and achievement.

Je pense exactement l’inverse.

L’IA va probablement exécuter mieux que nous presque toutes les tâches définies : coder, écrire, diagnostiquer, traduire, planifier, optimiser…

Mais il reste aujourd’hui une frontière que personne n’a franchie : le jugement.

Le goût.

L’intuition.

La capacité à sentir qu’une idée est belle avant de pouvoir la démontrer.

La capacité à donner une direction plutôt qu’à simplement optimiser un objectif.

Autrement dit : décider pourquoi quelque chose mérite d’exister, pas seulement comment le produire.

Et c’est précisément là que commence le débat sur la conscience.

La majorité des chercheurs en IA adoptent une vision matérialiste : la conscience serait une propriété émergente d’un système suffisamment complexe.

Peut-être.

Je n’ai aucun problème avec cette hypothèse.

Mais aujourd’hui, elle reste une hypothèse.

Nous savons corréler des états cérébraux à des expériences conscientes.

Nous ne savons toujours pas expliquer pourquoi une activité électrochimique donne naissance à une expérience subjective.

Pourquoi il y a un “je”.

Pourquoi il y a quelque chose que cela fait d’être soi.

Et si le matérialisme fort est vrai, alors une autre conséquence apparaît.

Le libre arbitre n’existe pas.

Chaque pensée que vous lisez ici.

Chaque émotion.

Chaque conviction.

Chaque décision.

Ne serait que le résultat inévitable d’une gigantesque réaction en chaîne commencée il y a 13,8 milliards d’années.

Nous ne serions que les spectateurs d’un automate cosmique.

Mais alors une question demeure.

Qui est ce spectateur ?

Qu’est-ce qui fait qu’il y a quelque chose qui “voit” cette succession d’événements plutôt qu’un simple traitement d’information sans expérience vécue ?

Je n’ai pas la réponse.

Et je me méfie de ceux qui prétendent l’avoir.

En revanche, tant que cette question reste ouverte, je refuse de considérer la conscience comme un problème résolu.

L’IA va transformer notre civilisation.

Elle automatisera probablement 99 % de ce que nous faisons.

Mais si la conscience n’est pas réductible à un simple calcul, alors le futur ne sera peut-être pas le remplacement de l’humain.

Il sera la redécouverte de ce qui le rend véritablement unique.

Today Labour’s Gibraltar surrender deal - announced today with no debate - has once again undermined British sovereignty, repeating the mistakes of the Windsor Framework and the Chagos debacle.

The terms of the deal are shocking: Spanish officials will now conduct border checks within Gibraltar. Spain can withdraw individuals’ residency in Gibraltar, even if they already live there. Goods sold in Gibraltar must comply with EU regulations. Gibraltar is now subject to a new ‘transaction tax’ to align it with the EU. And Gibraltar must adopt new EU laws or the agreement will automatically be terminated.

The practical effect is that foreign officials will decide who and what can enter British territory. British citizens’ fingerprints will be taken and passports checked within our own territory.

At the same time, Spain has conceded nothing about its claim to Gibraltar. No self-respecting British government should be willing to accept this.

To make matters worse, Parliament and the British public have only seen the final text of this deal today, but it takes effect tomorrow. Labour have shut us out of this process and are avoiding scrutiny.

A Reform Government will stand up for our national interest and overturn this one-sided, disgraceful deal.

There can be no shared sovereignty between Britain and Spain. Gibraltar is British, not Spanish, and that is how it must remain. This is not up for negotiation or dilution by a thousand individual concessions.

And there must be no border between Gibraltar and the United Kingdom. Spanish or EU border and customs officials must not be allowed to operate in Gibraltar, or have a say in who and what can enter our territory.
