@JackBurton1492 @KelzamMTG @wizards_magic After the last set of commander bans, Wizards actually did take control over the format and its bans. Although as others have also said, Wizards has said they won’t announce any bans or unbans for the format until a few other steps are completed first.
@rcondon17 I have not tried MTGO on my iMac before, but I did run the MTG Arena Early Access client on my iMac using Shadow. Worked great, no issues. Only downside is that’s it’s a bit expensive.
@Sierkovitz@Marshall_LR@lsv Ah, fair point, in my mind, we could average a value between 8 and 9, which we can! 8.5. But that would be the answer to every set. Haha. What about mode? Or some combination of mode accounting for the amount of outliers? Idk, you’re the scientist, not me 😅
@Sierkovitz@Marshall_LR@lsv just listened to the pod this week and loved Sierko’s analysis of speed of the format. Speaking of, do you think that using the median as opposed to the mean with regard to the speed of the format might be more beneficial and accurate going forward?
@Sierkovitz@Marshall_LR@lsv But the difference between 8.0 and 9.0 is huge right? ONE has a mean speed of 8.4 and is the fastest on arena, and KHM is 9.4, but there are 19 different sets between 8.4 and 9.4. So we’re talking tenths of a turn already with mean right?
Got a trophy off camera tonight. This is turn FOUR in limited ... Intrepid Rapid is this format's Writhing Chrysalis and I hope the public picks up on that sooner rather than later!
@lordtupperware I did the math (because I’m the kinda guy that finds that fun), and the chances were
1 in 111,111. Some things with similar odds include dying in a skydiving accident and dying from general aesthetic. Hope you aren’t planning a surgery soon. Or jumping out of a plane.
@ToaMichael Don’t know if it’s been replied yet, but it’s 40% Spring, 30% Summer, 20% Autumn, and 10% Winter in each play booster. 20% chance the land you do pull will be foil.
@mistermetronome@lordtupperware You guys keep saying you’re so jazzed to podcast about MH3 this summer, but you do realize you have only 2 more episodes till 50 takes right? 😅😅😅
Guilds of Ravnica was the first set I began drafting regularly during, and while it wasn’t a great set, it holds fond memories for me as a result. Naturally, I had to flash it back a couple times this week. Did I do it right with this 7-1 trophy deck? 😂🏆
@MTG_Arena Curious if you’ve learned from the last one and increased the number of participants due to insane amount of time spent by streamers waiting in queues and the constant pairing against the same opponents?
@SECNetwork there is a Vandy fan who is whistling so loudly and consistently that it is making this broadcast utterly unwatchable. They did the same thing vs Tennessee yesterday too. I’m sure I can’t be the only one hearing this.
@mistermetronome I went 6-3 tonight with a sweet UG Keruga companion deck that lost 3 games to cycling that were so unfun knowing I was dead in a few turns if I couldn’t fight past two Zenith Flares for 10. Great format with a huge stain unfortunately.
@tommartell@SamuelHBlack@Ajelenbogen@Walaoumpa He tweeted in response to someone saying that if the match next to them tied (and it also went to turns), a tie would have put Eduardo in Top12. But instead, someone conceded knocking him to 13th. Not defending him, and also don’t know why he’d make the pact knowing that info?
@maro254 Play boosters have made sealed a miserable experience. And not to mention all these bonus sheets make it feel like we’re not even playing OTJ, but rather some weirdly curated cube of busted reprints. (I got Mana Drained(?!) today).
@TaJoordan The reason is because they cut their invite list by at least 70%. Used to have hundreds of us playing, yesterday was probably a few dozen. They wanted to make it “more exclusive” by rescinding invites to previously invited smaller creators.
@toaohuntmaster @Ajelenbogen In my experience, no. Just complete ghosting. Likely due to understaffing directly related to Hasbro’s budget cuts in December. (The previous organizer of steamer events was laid off)
@NumotTheNummy@Graham_LRR Certainly much fewer than before as they completely ghosted many of us smaller creators that were recently granted access in the last year or two.
