The Pelagornis had a believed flight speed of 40 mph, and they are also believed to be one of the last flying birds to have teeth! The last fossil to be discovered of this bird was discovered in 2016 in Marambio, an antartic island! They are also closely related to pelicans!

Good afternoon lovelies! Sorry for the hiatus but I'm back and better than ever! Today's bird is considered to be the largest flying bird in the world! The Pelagornis Sandersi is an extinct bird that lived around 30 million years ago!

Pelagornis Sandersi's could weigh up to 48 pounds (21.8 kilograms) which made them too heavy to fly from low elevations or water like other birds. This means they would've had to live in higher elevations, again like albatrosses! I think the megalodon has found its competitor!!
