On a day like this but 2 years ago, Kazuhiko Katō (Creator of Lupin The Third) passed away.
His legacy will never be forgotten, thank you Monkey Punch for creating my favorite animated franchise.
As you read more and more of the manga, especially Shin, you can notice how the fourth-wall jokes become meta-comments from an author who experiences firsthand how his work is being reinterpreted by very different people, sometimes even moving its original vision to the side.
In the world of manga it can be interpreted as it existing because Lupin tells his stories to a mangaka aka Monkey Punch OR Lupin is this Billy Bat type character that infiltrates the real world and influences Monkey Punch.
In both cases MP wants him DEAD.
Shin Lupin Chapter 147
I still think about how Mamoru Oshii proposed a Lupin movie in which he eventually discovers that he is a fictional character (film that later became Angel's Egg ik ik).
Like wtf you mean we could have had this??
Are you telling me that Monkey Punch isn't just some horny guy who draws silly stories about thieves?
Everything we do is a part of ourselves, whether we like it or not, filters of a paper world. That's what art is.
Easily top 3 favorite artists of all time.
Você pode agora acompanhar o icônico mangá que deu origem a essa franquia em português! Baseado no original, e não na tradução gringa tenebrosa que tem o mesmo nível de fidelidade de "o futuro é pika"
Melhor parte: pags COLORIDAS!
Foi um trabalho feito com muito carinho, leiam!

Shin Lupin Chapter 147
Or you can just take it for what it appears to be: a funny joke about Monkey Punch being tired of having to write and draw Lupin every week without a break while the part 2 anime is becoming more and more popular.

In the past, I incorrectly referred to the second man as Ralph Bakshi, a mistake that I have recently seen spread across social media beyond just Twitter.
So I want to use this repost, not only to apologize, but also to talk a little about the real man behind it.
