I created Dairyland Sentinel because I believe Wisconsin deserves a media outlet that reflects the character of the people who built this state.
Wisconsin was shaped by farmers, factory workers, immigrants, tradesmen, teachers, entrepreneurs, reformers and patriots who believed in hard work, community and personal responsibility. This state has never been flashy. It has always been steady. I admire that.
From the lumber camps and dairy farms to the foundries, churches, small towns and neighborhoods that still hold this place together, Wisconsin’s story is one of people who keep showing up, even when things get hard.
That spirit inspires Dairyland Sentinel.
Not outrage for outrage’s sake. Not news media hive-driven narratives. Just honest reporting, strong opinions, accountability (and demands for better), and a genuine love for this state and country.
As Wisconsin celebrates 178 years of statehood today, I’m reminded why this work matters.
Forward isn’t just our state motto. It’s a mindset.
Happy Birthday to all my fellow Wisconsinites, from me and everyone associated with @DairylandSent.
Went to my third Brewers game of the season last night.
There is no quit in this team. Starting pitching was lights out. Again.
Atmosphere at American Family Field was really good for a weeknight when most kids are still in school.
Had a really nice night with the family.
If you were one of the thousands who had been following @billmccoshen then you should now be following @BillMcCoshen11 it is his new account.
Next week, I will show him how to use Netflix…
We’re not building a site. We’re rebuilding Wisconsin civic literacy. 10 yrs from now, Wisconsin residents will know more about their communities, government, schools, and institutions. Our goal is to be essential infrastructure for an informed citizenry.

T raded one of the best pitchers in franchise history.
Another franchise workhorse signs expensive contract but on IL.
Last year’s surprise stud pitcher beset by setbacks in his rehab assignment.
Yet, first place on June 1.
We love this #Brewers team.
June Dairy Month begins today.
Wisconsin didn’t become America’s Dairyland by accident.
It began during the Great Depression and grew into one of the state’s most recognizable traditions.
The history behind a Wisconsin institution and how and why the industry is more…🧵
A lot of new subscribers this past month. Thanks to all, newcomers and OGs alike.
And, good news: There’s still time to get the first Key Reads of June first thing tomorrow morning!

Political newcomer @BillMcCoshen11 is rebuilding his X account. His old one died a tragic death.
Out of the kindness of your heart, give the kid a follow.
Not just for #wiright, but anyone interested in sane, smart takes on Wisconsin politics and policy...Let’s get him to 1k.
4/ This is exactly why @DairylandSent exists: telling Wisconsin stories with pride, honesty, and seriousness so they drive real conversations and impact.
Online. On Point. On, Wisconsin.
NEW from @DairylandSent
As America approaches its 250th birthday, Wisconsin’s story deserves to be told.
For nearly our entire history, our great state has greatly shaped the American experiment
So, today, we launch:
Wisconsin within America’s First 250 Years.
3/ Over the coming weeks we’ll highlight the specific people, places, and events that wove Wisconsin into the national fabric. We will spotlight inventors, reformers, soldiers, educators, farmers, and builders.
Because our full story makes the American story stronger.
Bill brings the insight, and some spice, in his analysis here. Read the full thread. Oh, and give him a follow. He’s rebuilding a new account on X after issues with his old one. (These things happen to men as they age, I’m told)
Dem Gov primary ranking: (75 days out)
Tier 1:
1. @TheOtherMandela
2. @FrancescaHongWI
Recent private Dem polling shows Barnes in the lead based mainly on name ID. His likability among primary voters remains strong. But he still a long way from the 43% @GovEvers got in the 2018 Dem primary.
Recent private GOP polling and the past three @MULawPoll show Hong in the lead. There is little doubt Hong is in the top two and could win the primary.
@WisVoter analysis shows WI Dem voters moving left. That helps Hong. She is unabashedly a far-left Socialist, and is filling the Progressive/Socialist lane of the primary. Nobody is breaking out in the establishment/moderate lane. For anyone else to win, they have to jump over both Barnes & Hong.
