Last week my undergraduate research with @hull_wildlife and Jack Liu was finally published: https://t.co/Hsmj2swNfx
I'm proud of the paper (on average terrestrial mammal populations appear stable inside and outside protected areas), but also all the work it took to get here.
Delighted to share the first publication from my dissertation research with @JennSmithSocBeh! We tested field collection methods for fecal microbiome samples to see if microbial communities were affected (spoilers: not as much as you might think!)

This is so great: "We named this species in honor of Eileen Lacey, a North American biologist devoted to studying the evolution of behavioral diversity of mammals." Congrats Eileen!! ♥️
Excited to be chatting about Bay Area fossils @calacademy in two weeks. And while you’re there check out the rest of the @ucmpberkeley crew with our table on the process of fossilization!

oh wow look at that, my first paper! 🥳🦎
This was the first project that made me excited about studying animal behavior and made me want to be a field biologist. Happy to have had an amazing undergrad mentor @LizardMichele to help me see this through :)

Green lizards turn quickly to brown.
In seconds, to green they rebound.
Not to dodge predation
Or for thermoregulation
But to send social signals, we found.

It was an honor to sit down and chat with @emilykwong1234 for one of my fave science podcasts @NPRShortWave!! If you want to learn a little something about chipmunks and climate change, give it a listen!
It is super disheartening for me to accept that I no longer feel comfortable encouraging students from unrepresented groups to join any campus of the UC system. It's not only about living wages, It's about dignity!

Sad to be missing out on in person #GSA2022 but you can check out my eposter on ecological niche modeling for Glyptotherium during the Great American Biotic Interchange.
Feel free to reach out with questions/comments/suggestions!
It was so wonderful to collaborate with @echenfishbitch & @fishteph on this article describing pedagogical changes aimed at promoting inclusivity in the fisheries classroom. Thanks for letting me be a part of this project! Excited to see how Fish Ecology continues to evolve 🐟
