"Covid is still here.
"We've got a new variant circulating around now."
"There is little confidence in the IPC guidance."
You said it, @tracyniks! 🙏 👏👏👏

Research (systematic review) shows that OHCA in severely frail patients (CFS 6-9) is almost non-survivable - just 1 out of 96 patients survived (Hamlyn et al., 2022). Should future guidelines include severe frailty as a reason to consider pre-hospital CPR as futile? 🤔
Seeing a few posts from UK Ambulance Services about how they’re supporting staff to meet the four pillars of advanced practice. Simply stating what the pillars are tells us nothing. Let’s see job plans, time allocation and examples of activities being done in each.✌🏻
@jlynnbolster Figure out early on what your strategies will be to switch off from it. A long slog… rest and time away will be an important part of enjoying it.

I’m struggling to find the words to put with this post but please watch my most recent interview with Dele. It’s the most emotional, difficult yet inspirational conversation I’ve ever had in my life. Watch the interview on @wearetheoverlap here https://t.co/60d4IZwQmR
Presented virtually at the @ESNEFT and ImpACT’s online celebration event for the aspiring and consultant practitioner programme yesterday. DYK that just 11% of ACPs report being involved in research, leading to the conclusion that it is a neglected area of focus 🧐
@riches_rob Certainly poorly worded and ambiguous. Stipulating in brackets ‘excluding aspirin monotherapy’ can only lead you to assume that Clopidogrel monotherapy IS included and therefore all guidance should read OR, rather than AND. Also, subtle use of ‘consider’ over ‘do’ important…
Anxiety can affect anybody. Less than half (48.2%) of people with generalised anxiety disorder access treatment. This #MensHealthWeek, know that anybody can self-refer to the wellbeing service. Link for NSW 👇🏻

@Kirsty_LLR@ParamedicsUK@iampaulgates A lot is changing - seems to be a great time for Trusts to figure out long-term strategies for staff to develop down these routes. Encouraging that we’re starting to see a few trusts keen to recruit into research fellow roles and that the framework reflects that 👍🏻
How many Ambulance Trusts will be adopting the @ParamedicsUK 2023 paramedic design framework when recruiting to senior roles? n.b. Education levels refer only to the ‘clinical practice’ career pathway. @iampaulgates
@EEAST_research@EastEnglandAmb @NIHRCRNeoe Advanced Paramedic in Urgent Care = B7.
Advanced Paramedic in Critical Care = B7.
‘Advanced Paramedic in Research’ = 😉.
‘Research’ is one of the four pillars within advanced practice after all. ✌🏻
24 hours left to apply for this fully funded PhD to investigate how ambulance staff assess and document pain in people living with dementia, explore barriers & facilitators to pain assessment tools

Some interesting thoughts and reflections for those of us pursuing the clinical academic path. I’m 40, and it’s all stacked against me https://t.co/4vjKztvW8S via @niinamk

"More than 13.5 million hours of doctors’ time is being lost each year in England due to delays resulting from ‘inadequate or malfunctioning IT systems and equipment’ – the equivalent of almost 8,000 full time doctors, or nearly £1 billion."

We're putting an end to compulsory mask wearing in care homes in time for Christmas.
I hope this means thousands more people in care will get to see a smile this winter: https://t.co/4eytqklOrj
