No contact with the ball.
Studs up.
No red card.
I’m not going to drag this any longer, but we’re talking player safety now. That challenge, a few inches another way, could have been catastrophic for Bouzat.
Such a shame that a great @opencup game was ruined like this.
@GlennDavisSoc@DynamoCooligan@ColbyA_10 Even by going “ all in on this”, Olsen needs to be held accountable. 2 subs all game after playing the same lineup on a sat, tues. not only show inability to adjust but is wildy irresponsible load management. Hes lucky none of the starters pulled something. Really disappointing
Wins against Vancouver and LAFC in the span of a week bring the Dynamo well into the thick of the race for a top 4 spot. A win tomorrow vs St Louis gets them 2 wins away from lifting a trophy.
A good summer transfer window and the Dynamo could truly become a contender again.
Pains me to see @HoustonDynamo owner @TimHowardGK consistently bang the drum for other MLS players making a push for the @USMNT roster but not his own team’s player Jack McGlynn. Jack has a unique useful skillsey in matches, but he’ would rather push for Roldan & Berhalter. Sad
Tim Howard has called out “Eurosnobs” in the USMNT fanbase 😳
Even before Johnny Cardoso got injured, Howard and Landon Donovan didn’t have him in their World Cup roster.
Fans didn’t like that, especially since they both included Sebastian Berhalter and Cristian Roldan.
Now that Johnny is definitely missing the World Cup, Howard has a response for those fans.
“Well, the soccer terminology for these fans that gave us stick are called Eurosnobs,” he said on this week’s Unfiltered Soccer podcast.
“So what a Eurosnob is anything that happens in Europe, and if a player's playing a big club, then they must play for your national team.
“And look maybe, maybe, but again, I'm looking at the same chart you're looking at, and I see just a lot of red. He's out with injury. He's not in the squad.
“When he does play again, we‘ve all had bad games, but against Türkiye, a poor, poor performance in 45 minutes.
“And the next game, we got pumped 4-0 [vs Switzerland] and he played the full 90.
“And then from then on, you know, there's 21 minutes in this game, nine minutes in that game, two minutes, 45 minutes, like I would love to see on here 90 minutes, 90 minutes, 80 minutes like, there's just no consistency.
“So the people who are giving us stick going, ‘You’re out of your mind,’ maybe. But that's not what his history and what [Mauricio] Pochettino is looking at when he looks at Cardoso.
“Like Poch also watches Atlético Madrid on TV. He sees these games, but he also calls him in and sees him in person, which is more important, and that's what we're judging this on.”
Howard played 13 years in England, and works for NBC Sports as their Premier League pundit.
However, he tries not to be biased and gives MLS players a lot of credit. And he’s not happy with “Eurosnobs” who keep undermining MLS players.
Does Howard have a point? 👀
Houston Dynamo are doing it again:
I thought during the Fall that their 2011 age group might be weaker, but oh no, this club doesn’t really have weak age groups anymore.
I’ve seen real improvement from like virtually every prospect in the age group this season.
They might not have a true top prospect in this group, but between Oscar Olsen, Chris Gonzalez, Peyton James, Dax Munson, and Will Moddelmog they have a bunch of guys who aren’t too far off that. Chances are at least one or two will pan out. There are others too such as Kenzy Pierre, Gideon Gomez, Justus Morris, Ryan Truby who also show solid potential.
One thing I really like about this academy is the kids are athletic. A lot of natural athletes. A lot of people will roll their eyes, but there are some other academies that’ll win a lot more youth games and the pro upside of their players just isn’t the same.
It’s funny because Dynamo fans think I’m obsessed with hating on their club. No, I really am not. I just wish they’d realize they’re mediocre at the first team level. Whatever they’re trying there doesn’t work. Lean into that you arguably have like a top 3 talent pool in the country and start integrating these talents into your first team.
I’m not saying integrate the 2011’s, but this club has long past proven that the good age groups are a fluke. It’s 2007, it’s 2008, it’s 2009, it’s 2010, now it’s 2011. It’s proven. They’re becoming a youth juggernaut. The talent is there. Start utilizing it in your first team.

Was waiting to see who would step up for Dynamo 2 after Gilberto Rivera’s departure. It was Jahmani Bell who looked like THE man today. Was consistently dangerous with his passing and dribbling and scored this incredible solo goal. Dynamo 2 are undefeated and #1 in the league 👏🏻
