Big win - the Senate has today prevented public handouts to coal and gas companies by disallowing the controversial ARENA regulations. Hopefully Angus Taylor’s epic failure is his last as Energy Minister.
How can we keep calling these events as 1 in 100/1000 yr events; when it happens 11yrs apart?! 🧐 Do the people who make these statements understand what their saying? #climatereality
I fully agree @AmandaCoppNews Did we have statistics of Australia’s rainfall 1000yrs ago?
— if so; does this suggest #climatechange, or isn’t it the right time to raise the issue?
"This is a one in 1000 year event," says NSW Premier Dom Perrottet.
Can we stop saying this? This is clearly not the case anymore with increasingly frequent volatile weather systems as climate change progresses #floods
btw just a little thing the Bureau of Meteorology revealed at Estimates today that Australia is on track to warm by ‘closer to 4 degrees’ and the gov isn’t batting an eyelid #ClimateEmergency
Whilst objective arguements should be heard,
it’s beyond reasonsable that debate between a scientist with actual data and research is compared against the memory of @StevePrice in 1960😳🤦♀️.

“The only physical trace of Shine Energy, which wants to build a $2bn coal-fired power station in QLD, is a small post office box...This month the company was awarded $4m by the fed govt for a study...Shine Energy is worth $1,000 on paper.” LNP Dark Arts💰 https://t.co/0Xcd69VGHp
@leighsales Well done on your direct and poignant questions to the minister about climate inaction. Look forward to more questioning like this to politicians of any party
