After testing the iPhone 18 Pro Max against the REDMAGIC 12 Pro and more specifically Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Extreme Gen 6, it appears Apple finally caught up and potentially surpassed Qualcomm this year when it comes to performance per watt and efficiency. I still think the REDMAGIC 12 Pro is better for gaming due to better emulation support/access and REDMAGIC’s software increasing the FPS cap on certain games due to their 185hz display. Plus, all the gaming features such as shoulder triggers, high-touch sampling rate, game enhancements, etc. But needless to say, at the end of the day, Apple definitely is ahead the Snapdragon in raw chip performance. ⬇️

I tested the REDMAGIC 12 Pro against the REDMAGIC 11S Pro in GTA 5 and their Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 was roughly 20-30% better than the Leading Version Snap 8 Elite Gen 5 in PC emulation. Moreover, this is without native driver support! ⬇️

As much as I’ve been pleasantly enjoying the iPhone Duo, I still can’t seem to put down the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The 18 Pro Max is still the better device imo. Maybe when more apps are optimized I’ll officially start daily driving the Duo. 🤔
