Ja Morant spoke with media today ahead of his first game against the Grizzlies. He reflected on his time in Memphis and much more.

“I’m not a big grudge guy or anything like that. I still talk to the guys that I’m pretty much cool with.”

Reflection, early trade reviews and looking ahead to what should be a good baksetball game. The Grizzlies and Ja Morant will square off on Oct. 29. Both sides enter the first post-trade matchup thriving in new situations.

Wheewww, the Blazers are hooping! Some real offensive firepower now to go with the high-level defenders. This team has the makings of one that can make a playoff run.

It’ll be 4-0 Memphis at 3-0 Portland on Thursday.

NEW, EXCLUSIVE: The Tigers met bright and early Monday morning to break down the film from the Mississippi State exhibition game.

I was there.

@Needumgermany Thank you! I actually addressed this on tomorrow’s show. But to answer your question, they have been impressive, but my concerns in that area will cease when it’s against the better competition. This being a competitive team isn’t surprising at all. Looking forward to seeing it.

Wow. That was a gusty win from the Grizzlies. Ty Jerome wasn’t his best, and Memphis dealt with foul trouble. Still pulled it out. Memphis is now 4-0 for the second time in franchise history.

Next up? A date with the ex that your family always asks about.

Two days off before the next game is coming at the right time for Memphis. This has been a grind.

[Damichael Cole @DamichaelC]

There’s gotta be enough Grizzlies/Braves overlap on here to understand this comparison, but Jaylen Wells after a made 3 reminds me of Matt Olson’s reactions after home runs. He just turns around and finds the primary ball handler. Little to no emotion every time. He’s disgusted.

Zach Edey running in a straight line is a sight to see. Big fella can MOVE

[Damichael Cole @DamichaelC]

Walter Clayton Jr. did what today??

[Damichael Cole @DamichaelC]

This is why I said this should be the best shooting team in Grizzlies franchise history. They can get hot at any time, and so many different guys are capable of doing so. Memphis suddenly has a 13-point lead.

[Damichael Cole @DamichaelC]

Fouls are killing Memphis. Zach Edey has five and it’s 9:18 left in the third. Cedric Coward has four.

Halftime: Grizzlies 58, Jazz 52

An ugly game with more whistles than a crossing guard in front of an elementary school on a Monday morning.

Jerami Grant leads Memphis with 10 points. Keyonte George has 17. He’s been a problem for the Grizzlies.

[Damichael Cole @DamichaelC]

So many whistles so many fouls

[Damichael Cole @DamichaelC]

The Grizzlies lead 30-21 after one quarter and that felt like a sluggish quarter for them. Impressive.

Round 2 between the Grizzlies-Jazz.

The Jazz are using a different lineup in this game. Jaren Jackson Jr. is starting at center. Ace Bailey joins the starting group in place of Jaxson Hayes. Fun game ahead

Announced today: If you have certain DIRECTV packages, you now have access to Grizzlies games without needing DAZN.

Timing of this is strange, obviously, because most people probably already subscribed if you're a fan of one of these teams.

Ty Jerome just joined a list of Grizzlies that includes Pau Gasol, Marc Gasol, Mike Conley, Zach Randolph, Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr.

Ty Jerome has been named the Western Conference player of the week. Tyrese Maxey took home the honors in the Eastern Conference. Jerome is averaging 34.7 points and shooting 56.3% from the field. The Grizzlies went 3-0
