@RichardFedorko@majcon I suppose this is a practical approach. It's similar on my side; I always invest in an improvement cycle to identify what can be improved or which topics are maybe outdated.
Back on X after a long break.
Same person, new handle:
@majcon is now @DamirMajer.
I'll share what I learn building software with AI agents: what works, what breaks, what I check before I trust it.
Software craft, architecture, ABAP, JAVA, ...
What are you building with Agents?
1/ Not review only. Review is the weakest place for architecture rules, because an agent's break looks locally reasonable in the diff, and the next task copies it.
2/ You don't need an ArchUnit library. ABAP has the parts built in:
- package interfaces and use access, enforced by the package check
- in ABAP Cloud, released APIs enforced by the syntax check
- custom ATC checks for your own rules, blocking priority 1 and 2
- abaplint in CI on the abapGit files as a fast pre-check
3/ The part teams miss: the agent must not be able to weaken the gate. No new #EC pseudo-comments, ATC exemptions or check-variant changes without a person. And every rule the agent breaks twice becomes a check.
How is your approach to the architecture guidance?
@RichardFedorko@majcon Thank you. Yes, Programming Languages make a huge difference. In Java I have nearly all the Libraries that I can wish for, in a closed Eco-System like ABAP it often the rudimentary stuff that is provided..
Just some Examples: ArchUnit, JExample etc. is not existent in ABAP.
