π The βclick and waitβ era of software is coming to an end.
Traditional applications as we know them will gradually give way to AI-native apps.
Here is my short manifesto on where technology is heading.
A truly AI-native app is fundamentally different. It does not simply add an AI button to a legacy interface. It places a reasoning model at the core of the system.
AI is no longer an optional feature. It becomes the brain of the application. π§ π»
The shift: From reactive to proactive
The major turning point will be the transition from reactive tools to proactive agents.
Most AI systems today still wait for a prompt. A true AI-native app, however, continuously works with context. It understands the broader situation, anticipates needs, and can act before the user has to define every individual step. β‘
Imagine managing complex digital campaigns, analyzing massive datasets, or synthesizing dozens of dense documents.
Instead of relying on manual, step-by-step instructions, an AI-native app can orchestrate the entire workflow. It organizes information, identifies patterns, coordinates individual tasks, and delivers decision-ready outputs.
It evolves from a passive tool into an active operational partner. ππ€
The challenge
This is a direct challenge to developers and creators:
Stop building intelligent features on outdated foundations.
Software that cannot reason, plan, and act will increasingly be replaced by systems that can.
The future belongs to technology with intelligence and reasoning embedded directly into its architecture.
Are you ready for this shift? ππ‘
The data is from the U.S. market, specifically August 2026, and the sample of 1,000 respondents was collected by Adobe.
And of course, these trends may vary geographically across different economies.
Is there anything else interesting youβve noticed from your Search Console data?
Are people starting to search Google the way they prompt AI?
3-4 word searches grew from 33% to 48% of impressions.
Their share of conversions jumped from 20% to 46%.
@samongaro_ That one part "You can only keep testing the distribution".
Sales isn't an exact science, the market is constantly changing.
So, by its very nature, you're always testing what works at any given time. Sometimes you're successful for a long time, sometimes not even a week...
@kamilbaranek_ Ship faster.
95% of developers don't understand the code they've created. Often, they don't even know what (who) JSON is.
A year from now, understanding code will be even less relevant. Market execution will be what matters most.
@ziwenxu_@weswinder@kamilbaranek_ I agree, going over the data limit isn't usually a problem on the $20 plan.
Do you have multiple subscriptions or just one?
@adhamuxi Distribution still beats AI in software.
AI can ship the product. It canβt get you customers, trust, or a reason to stay when the next model gives the same feature away.
@arjun_prmkmr The best niche on X right now is not AI or vibe coding, but agentic coding, building with Claude Code, Cursor, and similar agents.
Grow by posting how to ship with those agents without getting wiped when a lab releases the same feature a week later.
@somehowali Please provide more specific details regarding the phrase "so difficult to switch." :) When I read the comments, it seems very few people have the same problem as you π
When should a company build instead of buy?
When it uses 5 features, pays for 50 and can maintain the useful 5 for a fraction of the subscription.
AI is quietly rewriting the old build-vs-buy equation.

Whatβs the fastest way to learn AI?
Donβt start with tutorials. Start with a problem that annoys you enough to keep going.
Urgency teaches tools faster than curiosity ever will.

Will AI eliminate developers?
Maybe the opposite.
As software gets cheaper, companies find far more to automate.
Developers may move from one central IT department into every function of the business.
