@nrmehta Not least of which is the question if AI will give better advice to our kids than we can give. Good parents want to prepare their kids to be better at life than the parents were, and take pride in that job. Kids will ask AI for more advice than their parents.
@nrmehta This is what Claude gave me and it seems to hit the main points correctly. I also like to think society is heading to a world where the work week will significantly shrink (contrast w/ pre industrial work routines). If the microplastics and AI don't kill us first.
@nrmehta With the sketch way they treated you (no invoice, immediate deactivation, no reply to emails) it sounds like the right question to ask is:
"when do you deactivate a vendor?"

@nrmehta My fear is that humans as a species are not developing requisite skepticism and critical thinking skills fast enough to prevent this tech from being used to control others and do harm on grand scales.
Seeing video evidence used to be believing.
No longer.
@nrmehta@levie Your nuance is the same I was thinking of, but in terms of types of internal teams.
R&D + AI = same # of engineers producing more with better quality (supply limited)
Tech support + AI = less humans needed once gains in experience/quality are deemed sufficient (demand limited)
@levie This is cool and all, but maybe next time don't select music that is reminiscent of the climax of Ex Machina. Let's not foreshadow that specific outcome, please.
@nrmehta 100% agreed. It impacts not only WHAT they build but HOW they research, engineer, market, sell - everything!
Companies not using Generative AI will be left behind. Even candidates looking at companies need to consider the AI strategy before accepting the offer. Bet on a winner!
@nrmehta It's also the first tech (I think) that even the creators are not quite sure exactly how it works. They understand what they coded and how it should work, but the precise behavior is not as predictable as "1+1=2".
In any technological revolution we initially look at what gets replaced, but the real impact is what gets expanded. AI will give experts a superpower to do even more, and lowers the barrier for non-experts to get started. This expands almost every market.
Yesterday at the capitol I asked this Tennessee Republican supermajority what they would do to combat gun violence and protect our kids. Their silence was loud.
Please watch and share.
