A lively, open game in Dallas ends in England's favour thanks to Harry Kane's double and strikes from Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford— Kane has muscled his way into the Golden Boot race, joining six other players on two goals, one behind Lionel Messi.

Croatia pegged England back twice through Martin Baturina and Petar Musa, but they could not muster a response to Bellingham's fine run and goal — Rashford sealed a strong if imperfect display with a fine finish in the 85th minute.

Thomas Tuchel's team were almost a team reborn at the start of the second half — whatever was said at half time clearly had the desired effect.
