@anon_opin The same applies in university management. The skills required to politic and get yourself promoted are completely unrelated to the task of running a good and effective university
@LucienHeurtier Almost no promise in any manifesto is possible without qualified graduates. Want more teachers? - they need to qualify. Want more doctors? - they need education. Want to build infrastructure? - you need qualified engineers.
@LucienHeurtier You think this government has a plan....for anything? There's absolutely no plan for universities other than for lots of them to collapse. Because no-one will acknowledge that higher education isn't an individual good but a public one.
@LionHeartBrit@Heccles94 Shadow positions are held by his majesty's opposition which is effectively decided by the leader of the largest non -government party (currently the conservative party). He's not in the shadow cabinet so he's not a shadow minister.
@GBPolitcs Desert island discs doesn't "ban" people. It just choses who to invite. Perhaps they've just decided they don't want him on to pick the Nazi songs he allegedly sung in school...
@anon_opin The main problem with python are how many competing libraries there are and packages you need to run anything. And then all the different versions. It's just generally a horrible experience.
It's main asset and the reason it's popular is that it's free
@21percentgroup Yes. We spent a fortune on a rebrand that is basically a few straight lines and a slogan that sounds like something on a mobile phone sim card. I much preferred the old one.
@DavidWa28957772@Emma_A_Webb Musk is a rich man who bankrolls companies because he was born rich enough to take those risks. He's not that intelligent really.
