@Jeffboots@BOSSportsGordo If they meet your criteria and make upgrades, would you still be disappointed if they don’t win it all or what would they have to do to make it having been worth watching? Genuinely curious.
@LuigiScal@ryanredd18@BOSSportsGordo Not really. You’re saying other teams are really really good at developing our castoffs, and it comes across as a slight at the Red Sox not being good at developing
pitchers. Could be since most people bash them, but fine if not your intention, moving on.
@LuigiScal@ryanredd18@BOSSportsGordo In general they’re great at identifying pitchers. Some didn’t work out, but not like they let them go and are left with garbage. They’re still stacked despite those ones doing better elsewhere.
@LuigiScal@BOSSportsGordo You’re saying it like you’re implying the Sox are bad at pitching. Their pitching rotation is stacked, 4th best earned runs allowed in all of baseball.
@jmertes_2@DanBFox1287 Devers hasn’t been good this year. It was smart to get rid of him with that contract. Suarez was a good alternate use of salary. And same for Bregman’s low production this year. Same compared to Durbin for much less. Agree they need more hitting though.
@BeavBlammy2@jsgiii22661 I could understand either way they decide, there’s a lot of variables in play before making a decision. I see where you’re coming from, but teams that make the wild card have gone on to win before and if you have a top rotation in the league then you have a good shot at it.
@BeavBlammy2@jsgiii22661 Only 1 team wins it, so if you only want go for it when you have a guarantee then sure sell it off, but with this rotation you have a legit chance. No rush, they have a few weeks to decide and have to see how they’re looking on the injury front before making a decision.
@BeavBlammy2@jsgiii22661 The pitching is lights out, lowest runs allowed in the AL, and fielding has been great, they just need some more hitting and can be legit. Been better hitting with Romy back and Seigler has been a solid addition.
@bhuber47@HalfCashHalfStk@StoolGreenie Nobody said they’re not “willing” to pay good players.
They have draft picks to deal, PG’s expiring contract after next year, and probably want to focus on building around JT as the #1 guy. They didn’t trade JB because they can’t afford it, just not “worth” it at $70M/year.
