I'm speaking to our Tech leaders about performance today as we continue our early stage discovery of what might work for us. I'm looking forward to spending some time with our Tech Management Board and advisors, finding out their views and what they've seen in other businesses.
I'm getting my holiday reading together thanks to a recognition award at work. Not that I'm likely to get much reading done with an 18 month old around!
This Twitter chat has been a huge part of my professional development. An endless source of inspiration, challenge, and connection. (And good ammunition for my best man in his speech. 🫢)
Hugely grateful to the volunteers who have run this over the years - thank you.
#LDInsight
We've reached a point with the weekly #LDInsight chat where we think it's time to stop this chat. It's not a decision we've come to lightly. The volunteers who run the chat have been discussing this for some weeks now.
Starting the week with a horrible cold. Although I'm not surprised having spent last week in air conditioned room with 30 people from all over the world!
Highlights for me include the importance of a Talent Philosophy, research around accurately predicting potential, and a change in mindset about the purpose/usefulness of some processes.
TMI Europe has helped me build on my existing Talent knowledge. Now for action...
I've just finished three days at the Talent Management Institute Europe programme by @TalentStrategyG.
It's been a full on three days, and incredibly useful and timely as we progress with all things talent, succession, performance, and development at Ocado.
For me this is about preparing to do more at a strategic level. It's an investment in the future, but will help me a lot now. I'm lucky to have a company who have invested in this for me, and where there are many opportunities to experiment with things/fix stuff!
I'm attending the 'Talent Management Institute' programme by @TalentStrategyG over the next three days. I'm looking forward to picking up some knowledge, tools, and contacts to develop my talent craft further.
I'm also prepared for it to trigger a bit of an existential crisis!
One of my absolute favourite venues, it would be such a shame to lose this iconic place.

I'm in London at our Emerging Talent Conference today where we're focusing on career development. I'm facilitating a session for ~120 people on our new values, the first time in ages doing something in person for this number of people.
Oh, and double denim is still cool right?
I'm keeping up with the guitar practice so far, grabbing 10 minutes here and there when I can. My main issue at the moment is trying to build up the hard skin on my fingers so they don't hurt so much!
Hi @easyJet - is it possible to get a breakdown of what I've paid for a particular booking please? It's to work out what some people owe towards the overall amount, but includes children travelling so not as easy as just splitting the cost. Thanks!
I've had two great learning experiences today. Firstly discussing all things talent with a group of peers at the HR Leaders Exchange, then a really practical session on visual thinking with the Learning Leaders Network. And a lovely catch up with a former colleague inbetween!
